Yeah, I don’t know maybe read the post first?

I didn’t say Schache didn’t try. I said he was having a poor game which given he kicked one goal from a free and didn’t take a single mark is self evident. Redeemed himself.

I didn’t criticise English. He should stay in. He was beaten in the tap work and will take time. Again, this is obvious.

You agree Dickson is cooked so I don’t know why you bothered with this one.

You also acknowledge young lack composure. Which again is obvious. I mean, is it a good thing?

Seriously I don’t know why you bothered. Weird post.

Really ?

Maybe coz you said they were negatives and I disagree?

Weird response

Might be true but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get a go

Do we keep playing guys because we are concerned his replacement may not step up? That isn’t what Bev does

If he comes in and tanks it then we know but we won’t until he does.

Ps I would have said Greene but he is injured isn’t he?
I would have Lipinski in before Hayes every day of the week. Hayes is not AFL standard.

This thread needs more talk of Libba's astonishing return to the game, The Bont was Bontish but for mine Libba was best on ground by just about any measure that I can think off. It's no accident that we look so much better with him out there. He is absolutely the heart and soul of our team and the key to whatever success we can achieve this season.

Great performance - fantastic and deserved result. The midfield dominated which meant for large chunks, it didn't matter that our backs were undersized. No changes for me.

Crozier's stat sheet is meagre but I think that is due to him playing a much more defensive role tonight. Wood fantastic on Buddy. Williams had a shocking game and the heat will be on if he plays like that much more often but he has runs on the board and plenty of potential.

Smith is one to persist with and I have no doubt he will play again next week. Understand sentiments around Dickson but on a normal night he'd have converted for 3 or 4 goals - poor finishing. Has missed a lot of footy but should improve for the run. Offers a threat that his replacement likely wouldn't provide for us up forward.

Bring on the Hawks

They are negatives. Not one of them is a good thing. I also pointed out a (linger) list of positives.

Or are we only post positives when we win?

Saying a 20 year old ruckman has work to do is not a negative it’s like saying pink is pink. It’s an undeniable fact.

If you couldn’t see the way we set up completely killed any chance Schache had to get the ball I can’t help you but what he could do he did at intensity and with effort. Sorry that is also not a negative.

And turnovers from a young team is no doubt a negative but completely expected and therefore a conclusion its a negative is again like saying pink is pink.

But hey you disagree butwe won so whatever :)

I'm a bit confused. I must have missed something since I was in flight to the Grand Final during the Brownlow count.

From news.com.au:

"Then it was down to the biggest hero the Dogs have had in recent years, Marcus Bontempelli.

And the 2016 Brownlow Medallist did not let them down
— the Dogs hacked it out of defence and the hard-running ‘Bont’ powered beyond the Swans’ defenders got on the end of the play and kicked the goal that broke Sydney’s hearts as the Bulldogs grabbed an 11.16 (82) to 9.11 (65) win in front of 32,303 fans on Saturday night."

Obviously written by an NRL fan.
OMG Chicago!!! I just posted abuse on their Facebook page about the imbecile who wrote this article!! Not about Bont's Brownlow (which I saw but thought I'd read it incorrectly), but about this:

"...but the win was not without controversy. With the Swans charging and the game close to time on Swans star Lance Franklin took a mark inside the 50 and went back to take the set shot but was called to play on by the umpire, who assumed Buddy had used all of his allotted time..."

ASSUMED!!!!! He bloody well HAD run out of allotted time coz I was watching it on the scoreboard and started to wave and yell play on to our guys myself!!

Lol!!!

Naughton's aggression REALLY stood out to me tonight.
Two efforts in particular, which from memory were in the first quarter, he absolute bull-raged at the contest.
In the 3rd or 4th quarter also, there was a 5-10 second shot of him on camera, on the boundary, absolutely losing it, trying to get put back onto the field.
THAT!!! is what I want to see from a key forward for us. LOVE IT.

Based on what? A JLT Game? Is that how you feel about every new player when they underperform in a scrappy pre-season hitout?

True and Greene and Cavarra also but you can’t play who isn’t available mate and Smith hasn’t shown me anything yet. If I’m honest I’ve been completely underwhelmed with his on field performance in the three games

I'd love to know what he whispers in the ears of some of these opposition players too- you can tell they just want to throttle him. He does their heads in I reakon lol

And that’s why I wasn’t concerned after JLT.

Agree with most of the positives in here.

The defence was excellent - we’re not the only team going undersized and all of them have been successful and held teams to low scores. Structure held up beautifully, until the last quarter.

After watching Port and us, both are clearly electing to ask a couple of defenders to play taller, and backing in the run and skill they add over any perceived defensive weakness.

The only change we should be looking at is whether Trengove comes in to take on McEvoy and Ceglar. I say no.

Smith and Dickson were a bit off the pace but should keep their spots. If you’re dropping Dickson based on his numbers alone you’re missing half the picture. Would only replace Smith with Lynch, who won’t be avail.

This is a really great win for the confidence of the players and fans. LIbba was BOG imo. the whole midfield lifted to another level and the men of mayhem were there to win the game. One thing for sure is the following. We here on big footy know very little when it comes to planning a game TACTICALLY. I think Bevo outcoached the Horse. Brilliant win. oh and to those (who shall be nameless) about our prospects this season and shait canned our team, i have the following message:

YOUSE WERE WWWWWRRRROOOOOONNNNNGGGGG!!!!!!

BRILLIANT WIN AND THIS WILL BE A NICE YEAR FOR OUR YOUNG PLAYERS.

GO DOGS YOU BLOODY BEAUTY!!!

He was brilliant tonight, plus his sledging was almost at 2016 Preliminary Final to Heath Shaw “You’re nuts” levels.
