Doesn't back himself...

Think Bolts got into his head, i.e. play safe, and don't screw up...

Needs some licence to flair -- he can do it.

Agree, I think you nailed it. He plays so safe all the time. And of all the players in the league, with those skills, awareness in congestion/pressure, and agility well it just doesn’t make sense. Should be backing himself all day every day of the week.

Willo is a seriously good footballer already, and his composure and willingness to back himself coming out of defence are allowing us to set up quick plays. Not to mention how nice his kicking skills are.

Sets the tone for how we should be rebounding. Pure instinct and creativity to work his way through.

He looks one preseason away from being lethal....

Adapts quickly to his opponent in the ruck, it seems - see centre clearances tonight.

There were some "almost" contested marks. He'll take those next year.

We have a player.
One more season into him another two preseasons 2022 season he’ll be tearing the competition apart...

Please excuse my ignorance, Windows. You son is?
I am Sam Walsh’s father. He is my son. My child. The apple of my eye. I declared him last preseason and did so again this. I crap on about him endlessly. And I once doubted him. I betrayed him as Judas did to Jesus. But he has forgiven me. And we are at one once again.

in all seriousness: I just love the kid. He tries his absolute guts out. He’s smart as ****. And he’s only going to get better.

Great to get the win any way we could. What a clutch moment by Jack. The team nearly murdered him in the celebration.[emoji846].

Tell me about it any wonder he was out of breath when he got up they nearly suffocated him with the stacks on.

Oh yeh Walsh is putting together a really solid season just quietly.

Isn’t racking it up as much as last year (which is obvious with the shortened games) but he is standing up in more crucial moments. He’s developed a real hard edge over the past month, and getting to a shitload of contests he has no right to get to.

Absolute workhorse.

Good on you Blues , thought you were the better side and we’ve never really managed to develop much of a rivalry so a nice bit of controversy there might spice things up a bit for the next few years

I thought that for a hard fought, physically close match it was good not to see spite. It seemed to be played in pretty good spirit. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Really liked Cottrell today, was ok first game, this game, he did some good things, still adapting a needs a bit more composure, but he worked his arse off and has a go.
He bleeds Blue, watching him live you see it. Great pickup.

A win is a win no matter how achieved and the maggots owed us one but technically was a free kick regardless of Docherty kicking out on full you can’t just do that after ball has been kicked and he was late
Once he turned his body into docherty it was always going to be a free

That goal was no fluke the steely eyed focus he new the angle he needed was kicking the camera mans gear around cables boxes while still focused on the goals
The majority players would have snapped around the corner he owned that moment his focus narrowed very impressed
So happy he gets to hold that memory for the rest of his life that was what we call the ZONE

Its taken me aa while to recover from the last few minutes of the game but geeez

Newnes kick was absolutely perfect - takes enormous courage to settle yourself and make that kind of kick much kudos to Newnes for that hope it lifts him and his confidence.

Really liked what I saw of TDK.

Homey is all class - just didn't get the bounce of the ball his way on the few occasions play came his way but for a first gamer - me likey.

Cottrell is an uglier version of Mitch Robinson - I like him.

Kudos to Cripps for leaving the lairy stuff and getting back and playing some sensible Cripps style football in second half too.

Best thing I've seen in a game was the reacrion of all the players after the win - made me smile and happy.

We were kissed on the D*** as they say - whats not to like about an after the siren win from a kick on the boundary and no run up after a dust-up with a cameraman - amazing.
Great post JAB
totally agree

Yep same number of inside 50s 42 a piece, 18 shots to us 12 to them. ✔
Most pleasing (or not, I don't know)

24-12 i50s to halftime, favouring them.

Nullified their game in the second half 30-16 i50s to us. Boys stepped up, and it wasn't Cripps or Doch...

Think Walsh was the key in the second half - 14 possies and a goal (should of had two) - many contested. He was our man.

The paper stats would say that we were a 3-4 goal better side today, looking at the game as a whole.
