2 wins (almost 3) in 3 weeks is certainly something to ponder for the coaching recruitment team.

I think our priority should now shift towards getting the best senior and line coaches.
we can't be melbourne - I actually tipped them (worst tipper ever granted) for the gf this season they looked so good at the back-end of last season - now look at them - we may go in favourites next week.......

It's just not an easy decision. Assuming next year is definitely their last and where we are the agreement has to be if they continue it's as a back up. I'm cautious with older players as they won't get any better and they can fall away badly.

From yesterday we will have Docherty Williamson Cripps McKay Stocker Cuningham maybe DeLuca all available who are best 22. This isn't including TDK Garlett Kerr Goddard Schumacher Lang Owies Cottrell who I hope some will step up. Then with a fitter and stronger playing list and by adding 5-8 good players (most around 25). Playing more than one of them each week is too much especially considering the ages of Kruezer Jones Casboult & Curnow.

Going to be interesting to see what happens. Tough call either way.

Can't help but think the deciding factor might be what SOS manages to bring in during the off season. No Cripps and we absolutely need guys like Murphy, Daisy and Ed to play and play well. Don't doubt that Murphy and Thomas will be on the list next season, it'll just be up to them to make sure their performances continue to demand selection.

SPS is a bit of a barometer. He plays well we are way better
no question.....terrified pies in a similar manner......

Love this forum after a win. Especially a win like that.
One of my favourite moments, apart from Murphy's last minute goal.
Was watching Daisy after he kicked the goal and see him sprinting to the interchange bench.
The total joy and excitement on his face at the prospect of a win.
It was wonderful to see. I love his passion for the team.

I actually agree with FRUMPY & didn’t think Walsh was very good yesterday. He didn’t use it well. But he had 30 & 8 tackles which is impressive in itself for a rookie.

Well, first post on the game and I really have nothing to say that hasn't been said before except that I personally was so impressed with the Brisbane win that I thought that feeling couldn't ever be topped this season. I was wrong.

We had no right to expect to win that game with our outs and losing Charlie that early (specially considering Freo were coming off a loss and I'm a big believer in the bounce back theory, then again, we were also coming off a loss :D) should have been a lethal blow to our chances.

What a performance with no passengers whatsoever. I would hate to be on the selection panel because no player yesterday deserves to be dropped. We are proving that we have, not only real depth, it could become embarrassing depth in the not too distant future. Specially if we can snare a Coniglio type player and performances like that can only enhance that prospect.

Before the final team was announced I posted that there would never be a better time to give Kennedy (and Kerr) a chance to show us what they can do. Kennedy has shown that he wasn't the bust that many were starting to think and even if, as expected, he has to make way for a returning Cripps or Cuningham he has definitely shown to me that he will play an important role in our resurgence.

Would love to see Kerr given the chance this week with Charlie out.

Would be remiss to not mention Murph. I've never wanted him dropped but I did think that we should consider encouraging him to retire this season. He turned back the clock and showed us all that can still play, hope we can give him a premiership and that may just be a little closer than we thought.

Too many others to mention yesterday but I also loved the game of those two other oldtimers in Ed and Daisy and Marchy was a rock.

Don't disagree but it's not an easy decision. Who we think is coming in will have a big influence as well as contract status. If we bring in around 8 players it isn't easy to select 8 players to go out. I'm not against them staying but when I review the list and what we are doing I struggle to see 2 of them staying on. It's going to be tight

The best win in years! Was watching it with my newborn in my arms and I couldn't even celebrate when Murph kicked that goal. I thought SPS, Ed and Murph went beast mode. The belief these boys have is admirable.

Litte one is one from one :)

Hey congrats. :thumbsu:

Don't think we need Roos in the scenario. Better to chase two high profile assistants.

The problem for a young coach will be managing the Carlton Board and associated money men. Teague match day coach, someone senior as the guy who manages up. Roos would be a perfect fit but he can’t only commit to 3 years needs to be in the role 5 years
