Never ever Hawforn. Ever.

Hawthorn plays 'insert opponent here' in final round of the season. Hawks win (while not boosting them into finals) would secure top 2/top 4/top 8 for the Cats.

No serious fan of the hoops can suggest that your mantra holds true in that case. Another team's supposed misery must always come second to your own team's success.

No he wasn't and the game looked back in the balance when he was off with Blits needed in the ruck and already missing Cameron.

Draper was too big for Blitz .
We missed Stanley when he was off the ground.

Plus Jezza was off aswell.

In your own thoughts, who was our top 5 in the VFL?

Chook.
Brownless
Lang.
SDK...we trying down back.

I don't have a 5th,

Jenkins having a good year.
Surely he comes in for Jezza.

My irrational hatred extends to insisting Geelong does it the hard way over any Hawfie success. I will die on this hill.

Danger plugging Chook and Jenkins last night post match.

I watched the VFL cats vs WB chook got alot of it but he was blind Handballs all over the place.
He needs to be cleaner with the ball IMO.

Kudos for owning the irrationality of your position. That's the only part of your perspective that I can respect here.

Fair enough, but in the case of 2021 they play Richmond, so for me it's

Richmond Losing, not Hawthorn Winning.

No way in the world. If we don't finish top 4, our chances of winning the flag drop exponentially.
Agree about top 4, but if we're not good enough to do that from here without relying on other games going our way, there's no chance of a flag anyway. We'll get there.

At the end of the day, virtually every team (apart from a club going 18-4 or better, for example) is looking for some results to 'go their way' to make it to top 4 each season. Why we would be backing ourselves not to need to benefit from that same 'assistance' at this point in our club's development makes no sense to me. We're not head and shoulders above virtually every other club in the race anymore. As Richmond has shown in recent years, getting to a handy position as finals begin sets you up brilliantly for a run at the flag.

I'd like to see Charlie (big body ball magnet) tried at center bounces gathering possessions or at least forcing secondary ball ups to help out our backs with the 666 rule where I see them most exposed particularly against good tall forwards until we can set up the plus one.We have to try something Parish and Stringer just laughed their way out last night.

I thought he played a good wet weather game. Didn’t try to finesse the footy and risk the dangerous turnover but kicked long and was a good marking option.

Agreed he is very underrated by fans (not by the coaches). Hopefully we can get a win in his 100th next week.

Ill take Fort thanks has mobility can ruck and is a decent kick at goal and mark

Fort would replace Stanley..Sav or Jenkins would play key forward with no Cameron.. different roles.

This.

I don't understand why people can't get their heads around this basic concept. It's incredibly self-evident yet apparently it needs to be re-explained again and again for some reason, because this conversation comes up every year with the inevitable refrain of "if we're relying on other teams to lose than we don't deserve top four" or "better to get there on our own merits than be hoping for others to lose". Smh. :drunk:

Scott was pretty clear in the posr match presser that Higgins is likely to be straight back in this week.
Unfortunately I did hear that, and it's bullsh!t, Higgins doesn’t deserve a game back... I only hope Chris Scott goes back on his word regarding Higgins, As majority people here and on the media thinks Higgins doesn't deserve to

I was hoping to maybe give Hawkins /Ronan a rest in the lead up but probably can't afford to now?
Still can it would allow us to unleash the secret weapon.
Set free the Jenkins

I don’t seek nor require any kudos; the purity and righteousness of my hatred is a warm blanket for my soul.

Getting to a handy position over the home and away hasn't been our Achilles heel. I just want us to build some serious form from here instead of tanking and experimenting like we saw last week against the lions. If the other teams in the top 5 keep us honest, all the better preparation for the real stuff.
And also.. what catempire said. Irrational hatred.

If Cameron misses could see them playing Jarvis over Fort or Jenkins. Even just whoever the next player in line is regardless of position, Higgins IN Cameron OUT, prepare the melts. We weren't playing two key forwards last year before Cameron came. They have been pumping games into Sav so that is probably the most likely change but based on selection the last two years it would take something nuclear for Fort or Jenkins to play now IMO.
