5 Wins.

The season comes down to 5 wins.

If we are good enough - that gets us home.

Those people wanting a pre finals test - here it is.

The way the other results have gone so far, it appears we still control our own destiny for Top 2 and Top 4. Top 2 gets us a "non traveling" Finals series in theory. Top 4 gets us the double chance.

Lose this, and we are still in the hunt for Top 4 but we'd need to win next week and hope something goes our way I think

Regardless - it starts now.

no waiting for the other bloke to go because we have next week to make it up. No double grabbing or fumbling. No slipping over. Taking the first option is the go now.
The Swans will want to influence our outcomes - and after the shit they've served up since 2022 you cant blame them - but in the 90's we did the same and it doesnt feel good so I get it - but we aren't here to make them feel better.

Baz needs to do Baz things - the Irish need to clamp onto their opponents like never before. Rhys needs to be good Rhys.
Jezza needs to roam and score. Stengle find your range early and keep it going.
Atkins - just be you and my boy Scratcher - just run and jump at everything. Mannagh be greedy, Miers be slick and Close be exactly that... Close down your opponent.

PFD - its time.

The rest.... rest well and do your job.

Picture perfect day in Sydney as I look out the hotel window. Should be a fast high scoring game - I hope.
Curtain-raiser at Tramway Oval outside SCG. Looks like a VFL team stacked with every AFL listed player not playing on SCG (except Toby). Long day for me. Celebrations tonight.

Great test and tune up for us against an in form team on their own deck.
Destiny is in our hands , need to grab second spot.

Four quarter effort , pressure between the arcs and win contested possession.
Above all though make good decisions and execute cleanly- park the Jezza 100 dream and pick the right options Cats.

Will the real Geelong please stand up
😁

Hoping for a raging bull type game from danger like the Collingwood game earlier in the year. Absolute match winner when in wrecking ball mode 😤..

Now that smith's tinder exploits have given him a bit of excitement, thinking this one could go either way, a loved up baz playing with freedom and expression for a BOG performance or a young man thinking too much with his other organ, mind elsewhere, etc. Hoping for the former obviously.

Also excited to see Martin back in the team and rested. Interested to see if he picks up where he left it. Absolute finals wild card this bloke.

Does everyone hate papley as much as I do? Kind of guy you'd love if he was in your team but very punchable when he's up in your face antagonising. Hoping others don't feel the same as i do and go all Hayden ballantine - Matty Scarlett on him and get suspended. Could only imagine Stewart having this sort of brain fade.

Massive game. Go CATS!

YES!

As much as I dislike Sam Mitchell 🤬

We have our team at full strength, it’s ours to lose, it’s also an opportunity for a good win 🤞🏻

Wow $3 for the swans at home that have won 7 of the last 9 games and recent wins against freo and lions. Don't understand the odds here...
Is that 7 of their last 9 against us at that venue?

The odds make some sense when you factor in that Sydney have gone 5-5 at the SCG this year, going into this match they sat 10th and we were 2nd

Add in their couple of injuries while we look at basically full strength, the odds make sense

We dont need to hope something goes our way if we lose today and beat tigers next week to make top 4. Top 4 is guaranteed as long as we beat one of richmond or sydney.

Sydney have won 7 of their last 9 games. They're in excellent form and are a completely different team with Gulden back. Any win today is a good win.

Crisp + sunny in Sydney.

A breezy Westerly with wind gusts of 26kph.

Lots of Swans’ fans about. A big League weekend.

Excited to be going to SCG, where I grew up watching cricket + rugby union.

Biggest underperformer in their last three Grand Finals too, relative to the mouth he runs every other week. Clearly humility is a trait he'll never learn.

They've also got no Grundy who has been a big reason factor in their season turn around

I know last weeks win wasn't necessarily the most convincing, but we've also won 7 of our last 9 and have a pretty solid record at the SCG

We know that any team can win on their day, but sitting second on the ladder with basically a full strength side, we should be going into today as favorites and showing how we're preparing for finals

This is true.

It is also true that Grundy has received AFLCA votes in 8 of those 9 games, including seven games where he was voted BOG or second BOG - pretty stunning run of form.

We could not have asked for a better stroke of fortune that he will miss today.
