Culture will be the more important thing for Sunbury to get right rather than the players they can get.Get quality people involved with clubs and good players will come anyway.At the moment they still have a few knuckle heads associated with them in my opinion.There supporters might disagree but thats my judgement.Hope they continue improving though.

Ive been reading this site for a few weeks now. I do wonder where some of you blokes get your info from. For once and for all Meldrum is not playing at Macedon. He is playing again at Romsey.

Couple of things to throw into the mix.

Ben Talbot to Gisborne next year.
Steve Burlack to Romsey next year. (Apparently pretty close to Romsey Coach Kevin Fitzgerald.)

Kevin Fitzgerald will most likely coach again.

Majority of Romsey senior side will not leave the club. Infact unlikely there will be any major goings.

I think everyone is over Meldrum actually and everyone else for that that matter... Why dont you all get a life, instead of talking crap on here... The footy season is atleast 6 months away.....

I have heard that he may apply for the position. he has done a great job with his kids this year and appeared to be a good coach.Although, jarrod has done alot of hard work building the club and to put them in the position they were last year they would be mad to go against the big man. all his players respect him. i wonder if the 2 blokes could work together, cuffe would be a huge pick up if he was to play.

Damn right, they are still a very young club with not a great deal of old mature people around to pull some blokes into line. I believe the president is only 25 and still trying to play. unfortunately this is what happens when players retire and cut all ties with clubs, so they dont get hassled about playing again. that happened abit years back when they were struggling for numbers

Yeah mate that is the key to my argument, HE DOES DO ALRIGHT IN THE RDFL! yeah he is overweight but look at his bloody goal kicking record! Any club gaining a player with a record like his is bound to be happy. If my memory serves me correct Sunbury struggled a little to find a consistant goal kicker when they came up against Woodend, i believe they were trying to use Garth Ploog as there focal point. So at least Commo would be able to straighten them up a little and kick a winning score.

commerford was only kicking bags at romsey cause he had the likes of luke edwards,troy smilie, matty carroll and a few others ramming them down his throat.
won't get the same delivery at kangas(even though i think they are on the improve). will struggle to move out of the goal square, and will tear up if he doesn't get delivered the ball to him on a string.

well even if he may not be as effective he will provide Sunbury with another option. yeah i agree Garth Ploog is not a very effective footballer thats why i suggested they need a new focal point. Commo will at least give Sunbury that little extra depth in the side. i highly suggest though that Sunbury should not throw any great amount of money at Commo though, just if he wants to play for them give him a spot and a chance to prove himself.

And also all information given by myself and Sugarray about Woodend is extremely accurate, given we are both very much a part of the club we only report the news that we here from the club on here to keep some of you RDFL fans informed. If some people are gonna go accusing others of making up stories then we will just stop letting you all know about the Happenings of the Woodend Football Club. P.s thanks to everyone that does report information that they here on this forum it really keeps us interested over the summer period.

Agree, did happen a couple of times this season, and its something that they are actively trying to stamp out.. Seen the attempts myself.. Although I have seen this happen elsewhere, do agree with you, they need to cut that stuff out. When they do, it will improve the image of the place. But the right steps are being taken, everything happening at the club is a positive move.. That is something I can say I have never seen before...

Cummo fully fit is a very dangerous player. we have seen that over the past couple of yeras. Even though he is now at the biggest he has been. Even half fit he would be a handy player at Sunbury. Opposition teams will need to put there best backman on him because he is capable of kicking 3-4 goals very quickly. Probably should have got a game in either grand final side this year even on one leg!!

Your right he wouldnt have the same delivery that Romsey was giving him (the day troy smiley delivers efficiently to the forward line is the day I retire!!!) but still going to kick a few. Did any one notice this year that the umpires cracked down on the amount of wrestling he does. In previous years he got away with a lot of holding and scragging. This year, nearly every time he was one on one he was pinged for holding?

I've played on him a few times and its easy to get into head. The most he kicked on me was 5 in a game. I was very surprised that he couldn't get a game in either for the GF but its not the first time its happened to him. I heard that it happened at Melton and at Bundoora. He can play but he needs to get himself fit and most importantly committed.

Would have been a frustrating season for him, with the injury and all. But he'll be back, have no doubt about that...

you are correct in saying that SOME spectators have fouled mouths but dont forget why anybody gets abusive. footy is a very emotional game i have been to the mcg and seen 50,000 people turn ugly because of constant inconcitency. you ask any umpire that umpired them in the first4 rounds when they were playing well and winning i heard they had good umpires and their were no abusive people bar the first round after a very ugly incident that the umpire did not control. Umpires need to judge the club on what it is not what it was when that happens i'm sure they will turn around. they are not the only club that gets a raw deal because of what they have been like in the past.
They are working extremely hard to get rid of and/or tame the d..kheads

Very right Blues... Everything at this point is a rumour... Until those clearances are signed and approved.... The only guarantee at this stage is that I wont be playing again... Ha...

I remember when the Kangaroos were the Rovers,when Donny Down was coaching the 2nds[and that's a while ago]the Umpires hardly ever gave either the 1sts or 2nds any respect.They had decent players like Darko Dubrovsic and Paul Noonan,yeah i know so a few wernt that good and were only there to make up the numbers.Well in most cases the Umpires didnt give 'em much respect,i think the Semmons Brothers did,even though they can both A/holes at times.
