Used to go wherever the best cover bands were playing - Wax, Airbag, J-Babies are the names I remember.

Followed them to Paramount, the Palace, the Newport, that little bar in Hillarys that used to be the Craic, the Foundary in Cannington, the Lookout in Scarbs…
The Foundry....I saw Craig McLachlan and Izzy from Neighbours sing Hey Mona there once

I was very drunk but i remember the whole pub went off for it tbh.
I think they were over here doing the Grease musical or something?

I never got the allure of the Foundry. It always felt weird to me smashing pints next door to Woollies.

I can just imagine. The whole pub sings 'Heyyyyy Mona. Ooooooooh, Mona...'

Then long gaps during the verses cos no one knows the rest of the song.

My older sister had the cas-single so I know the words unfortunately.

She didn’t splurge on the whole Check-1-2 album?

I can't confirm, but likely. I definitely do know she had "Especially for You" by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue on vinyl though.

I used to work a few doors down from where Fast Eddies was on the corner of Murray and Mulligan

Started there in 1985 and Fast Eddies opened in that location some time after that. Don’t know where it was before then though

They used to do an Oinky Burger that was an overload of bacon. Elite areas

I have a vague recollection of this burger.

Dad would take us there after the Wildcats once or twice a season. The old boy was a genius looking back on it. Managed to treat us with things at just the right frequency to ensure maximum good behaviour but not so often as to induce expectation.

“And this is another cover of a song off Pearl Jam’s second album “Vs”, but they’re not using the right guitar effect so it sounds a bit off…”

"Are you even listening? You're missing the best part!"

They had those little wooden door/flap type thing's on the walls in the front and you'd lift them and there was a joke or something underneath.
My all time favorite burger place will always be Eats on the beach in Cot, used toast instead of buns if you wanted and also put gherkins on them!
