Just found out that my best mate has been in an accident.
Some homeless guy (not 100% on details atm) walked in front of his car. Smashed the windshield. Best mate and his GF pretty shaken up.

I found it out on fb, his mum posted it. She got a taxi to the hospital, where they're being checked up on. Wish I had seen it earlier so I could've taken her. Can't get a hold of him.

While we are one the subject of getting run over by a car, I almost did yesterday when out and about.

At a crosswalk the car coming from my right looked to be slowing, and I took a second to look left that the other car was also slowing down then took a step. For some reason, the car coming from my right decided to just gun it since I hesitated and yeah, missed me by about 30cm.

I simply insisted that I was entitled to a two-section ticket from my usual departure point to my usual destination, since that's what I have got every weekday for the past [x] years. He insisted that I couldn't get a two-section ticket from that stop, and (by inference) that every other driver that has given me that ticket has been wrong to do so.
