I'm getting fairly sick of death.
Been a bad few months.
Yeah I've been to far too many funerals this year.

Have a mate on exchange here in Ottawa, originally from Melbourne, who had his dad die the other day.
Was speaking to him last week and listening to how excited he was for exams to be done and how we were meeting up for new years in New York.
Then in an instant, one phone call, that becomes the most insignificant thing in the world.
Can't imagine having to deal with that away from your family and then being forced to endure 24 odd hours of travel back home with it hanging over you.

I've never really had it before either.

Three months ago my grandad died, then on cup day my nan died.
Between them a friend and ex co worker tragically died as well.

Yeah neither. Apart from a cousin and a former teacher, this is all pretty new to me.
Sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully you've earned a few years off.
Mine haven't been nearly as personal as that - a couple of a distant relatives who lived to ripe old ages.
The only truly tragic one was a close friend of mine's mum who committed suicide.

...and now I'm all sad again :(

Thanks. Was pretty tough.

Anyone have any travel advice for the following cities:

Montreal, Boston, New York, DC, London, Edinburgh, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam.

Quinz you abandoned the Eagles to go galavanting around Europe, give me some tips!
Berlin and Amsterdam are amazing.

The best coffee shops in Amsterdam are Greenhouse and 420. Avoid the red light district and just wander, it's a nice city. There is a good live music scene and its a great city if you have an interest in design. Check out Noord, theres a great market there and lots of nifty shops and art stuff.

Berlin is party town. Kreuzberg is kind of the Fitzroy of Berlin. Go down to the river in the summer or have some food in the park. Pankow has a great street art scene and cool bars. The locals can be standoffish due to the influx of the arts set over the last 20n years and slow gentrification of Berlin, but overall it's a wonderful place. It's worth a train ride to Munich though, one of the most scenic cities.

apparently the plebs waiting at drive through line at Krispy Kreme were there for nearly 3 hours around midnight. Absolute madness.
