Finals have arrived, at last !! The time when the BS stops and the performances count. APW should have a full side in but will TL lose any to the seniors. Will they get Longo back this week? He gives them a lot of drive out of the middle ....might have made the margin a bit less last week. Will be a very interesting tussle, the last time the two met the conditions were terrible and would have bought the skill level down which would have suited TL. The open spaces of Coburg will suit the APW runners but will Dilizia and Noodles be back. Without them you would think that APW will struggle. - TL by 2 goals

The other match could go anyway - you never know with Tulla. Word is a pretty good side will take the field this week so you would think they would be too good. MV have got big Newell up forward and Vitacca and Schepis creating opportunities through the midfield but their depth lacks a bit. But don't be surprised to see a couple of their gun U16s make an appearance. Tulla should have the advantage in the ruck duels and with Ramsay, Ronaldson, Bligh and Palmer feeding it out of the centre their forwards should have a good supply. Tulla almost has a home ground advantage with all the ex Glenroy boys on the team so Tulla by 5 goals.

Get your tips in everyone and look forward to reports from the games after Saturday.

I agree with you in the game with APW and TL,
I think in the elimination game ,
I think MV might get over Tulla only coz of they seem to go in harder for the ball, , I think if MV can keep the strength up for 3/4, rather than 1/2 a game, i think they might get over the line by 2 goals, going to go and watch that game and take the dog for a walk since its in walking distance. good luck all teams:cool:

I see Younan has been named on the bench for the Jets this week. TL must be happy to see him get a go but terrible timing.

I;m sorry to hear that he is playing with the Jets this weekend end, although TL will miss him badly, but then again, if they lose they got a 2nd chance against the winner of MV and Tulla.

MV will go in hard in the 1st 1/4, they just don;t have the stamina after 1/2 time, if Tulla can contain them for the 1st 1/2 of game, tulla will come out victors in this game

Taylors too strong for Airport West
Valley just over Tulla, but reckon Northern would have beaten either of them. Draw against Jacana proved costly.

I guess the coaching staff at AWP Don't read the forum, if they did , they might have had a better result against TL, Heard Younin and Longo Tore APW a new one and APW only had 2 problems, (1) a few Disipline problems, (2) pyss poor umpires which were against them, Not taking anything away from TL, they are on the long road to playing in the Grand Final......Good luck boys against Haddy Next week;)

MV unlucky yesterday. Final score was Tulla 21.6 to MV 13.17 and Tulla kicked a few late goals when MV realised that was it. I was at the game and TBH i thought MV had them for a good 3 quarters but thats footy if you dont take your opportunities then you wont go to far. A few MV players tried their best all day which is a good thing to see, and good luck to the rest of the teams which are still alive i look forward to watching:D

any1 able to do a detailed match report from apw v tl?

the game was actually quite scrappy, skills werent realy that high but the intensity was, which made the game pretty close and interesting..
apw looked very much incontrol in the first quarter, but lakers came back in the second kicking 5 straight. from then on it was neck and neck. tl prevailing with the wind in the final quarter. some would say apw where stiff with umpiring decisions but credit to lakes to take home the win. to many whistle happy umpries in this compitition and it needs to stop, hopefully the last few finals do have good umpires.

also saw a few tagging jobs done by apw onto longo and younan- both didnt work they ran a muck...noone from apw realy stood out in my opinion

early tips for this week:
HADDY vs TL - should be a good game, tl looking for redemption, still haddy too strong but closer then expected - hawks 20 points

APW vs TULLA - no chance apw will go straight sets, they've shown more heart then that all year and most of the boys havnt played finals scince early juniors so they defs be hungry for it- apw - 8 goals

i agree with tugg about thte whistle happy umpires..although there were decisions both ways that were questionable in the last 5 minutes apw were definantly disadvantaged..credit must go to taylors lakes who looked like a bottom 4-6 side in the first month of the season but have rallied and now look like a definate threat to haddy/apw for the flag..tulla must also be a definate chance with there big guns up and firing in the right end of the season..the last 3 weeks will be massive but haddy are definantly the front runners to hold up the cup in 3 weekends time.

good point made here with the happy whistle umpires. they must go!

Tips for this week:
HADDY vs TL-will be an absoutle cracker of a game with both teams at practically full strength. with 3 coming in for haddy and only 1 coming in for taylors. i think haddy will still be to strong. 1 player which is longo can not make up for 50points which they lost by to haddy in the last round of the home and away season. the big ground will suit hadfield with alot of running players and alot of space to play with. will be neck and neck but haddy to come away with the win by 3goals.

APW vs TULLA-with all the big guns at tulla back and flying, they will be very hard to beat. apw confidence will be shot after loosing to taylors as when it got tough in hte last quater and the pressure was on. they showed signs of cracking and letting the pressure get to them. a great example of this was Julian Ross #40 who would of played a big factor in the loss after giving away 50m penaltie which resulted in a goal. tulla have beaten apw before and im sure they will do it again
demons by 2goals

My Tips for this weekends Events are

Haddy Vs Taylors Lakes Haddy by 6 goals as I think Haddy might have an off day and will be a little over whelmed playing at Windy Hill Also if they put Nigel Matti on Longo, and Tonna on Younin, and Wallace on Vistanni as you got to pay Vistanni some respect to him , he will carve up Haddy on the wing and flank as he did to APW last week,

Tullamarine Vs AirPort West Tullamarine as they know it will be a do or die game for them and they have the phyco edge as they have beaten APW b4, Tullamarines centre is by far the strongest in the division and they will know how to get the ball out to the right players Rolo will have a blinder and so will Bligh :D

Don't you just love finals time....

Haddy v TL - Haddy have to be red hot favorites for the flag after towelling up TL a couple of weeks ago and will have a full strength side in. Could be a full GF preview out at Windy Hill but TL to just miss out this week. Expect it to be much closer than last time - Haddy 3 goals. Also I see in the Sun today a Younin named on the wing for the Jets ???

Tulla v APW - Both sides will be going at this like never before. APW still smarting from last weeks narrow defeat and Tulla still have sometihng to prove to the competition. And by the way, its over for the loser....... Both teams should be at full strength and the midfield battle will be a beauty. Dilizia has been kicking bags each week and will be hard to stop on the open space of Coburg and Welsh always chips in with a few. Tulla hit their straps with a solid win over a good MV side last week but will need to step it up to win this week. Average conditions tomorrow will suit Tulla - Tulla by 2 goals.

Good luck everyone..:thumbsu:

very interesting results today

haddy beating taylors by 10 goals and same as tulla beating apw by 10goals
apw going out in straight sets, not cracked up to be what was expected
tulla defs the dark horse of the competition and will be flying in confidence

tips for the prelim:
Tulla vs Taylors- Tulla in flying form with finally pretty much a full side. taylors will be going into this game thinking they got it in the bag after beating tulla by 8goals both times they played. they got another thing coming. Tulla by 5goals

Review of APW V TULLA

APW goal kicking realy let them down through out the game and there match winners just didnt get enough of the ball..there desire to win the ball could be questioned at times and so could some of the decisions that came from the coaching box..when they had the wind in the 2nd qrt and were only down by 3 goals they just didnt capatalise with the wind n let tulla kick 4 on the trot.

TULLA, there intensity and pressure at stopages in the first half was a credit to themselves they went in tougher and got the ball when it counted..tulla forward line was small and quick n caused havoc..if tulla play like that next week and the week after asuming they beat TL they will be the priemers..

No chance, Haddy should smash all comers now

Haddy would have to be red hot flag favorites now afetr pumping TL for the second time in a row. You would have thought they would have made some improvement on their forst meeting but Haddy seem to be just too good. TL V Tulla this week is going to be an interesting one with TL easily taking the points on their last two meetings. Plenty of feeling between these two with quite a bit going on the last time they met and the TL boys not exactly gracious winners. Tulla putting in some very good performances of late coming up against a wounded and angry TL. Haddy would be hoping they would beat the life out of each other and for sure will be cheering for TL.

Anyone got a rundown on the Haddy V TL final. I called TL as slight flag favorites a while back..........just goes to show how much I know

Got a good look at both teams TL & Hadfield over the weekend. Taylors really put it to Haddy early in the game but in saying that Haddy missed with converting early in the game with 7 behinds in the first Qtr.
After that it really was all Haddy. A bigger spread of winners around the ground and very hard at the contest as well as being very smart with there ball movement.
Just a very good outfit that have eyes only for the ball.

Younin had a reasonable 1st 1/2 of the game against Haddy and Longo was playing well, but for some reason the whole team ran out of legs in the 2nd half and thats why they lost it,
be an interesting game to say the least, Tulla will be at full strength no doubt and fire in their eyes as they had never been at full strength throughout the year, I think the Ex Glenroy boys will be the difference against TL, hope i got the time to go and watch the game this saturday, my tip, Tulla by 10 goals against Taylors Lakes,

Younin was left to do what he wanted early but I think the message got through after Qtr time. Longo was ok early but didn't like the close attention he received after that!
To say TL ran out of legs is a cop out, being 2nd to the ball will always make you look spent. Credit to Haddy must be given for just having the harder work rate.
I also look forward to seeing how TL respond this weekend. I think Tulla are up and running though??

i hear haddy do more 400s then cathy freeman has done in her life.
shows why they can run and run and run.
tulla are def up and running at full flight and nothing will stop them. tulla are like the planes that hit the twin towers in new york. i mean nothing will stop them! (untill they play haddy )

taylors are in for a big shock this week with tulla at full str and will dominate this weekend. tulla to prove a point agaisnt taylors and will beat them by 7goals. the grandfinal will be an absoutle cracker with haddy and tulla both at full str and will be neck and neck and i cant choose a winner! to be honest i think by the end of the 4th quater it will be a draw and extra time for each way will be played.

i aint jumpin the gun here buh taylors will loose this week to the demons.

Good effort by the lakes to get this far, i didnt tip it but i think tulla will win by 8 goals this week.. keep an ear open for racial slurs out of tulla aswell, heard a few rippa dirty ones form them this year
my tip: hawks to win the granny and freo, bit of a smoky for the 3 medals, normsmith, brownlow and a premiership ;)
