Do you have any dealings with the meat buyer from Coles who plays fiddle fingers with the farmer on the ad?It isn’t really that free of a market when it comes to stock sales, and there are differences between the processing ages of lamb and beef that come into play.
There is a bigger export market for beef, and stock can be held over and increase in value while lamb prices decrease.
It would be different if there was less feed and water, which will come into play if we have a dry summer, but beef sales at a low price are also lower volume per head at the moment.
Would a farmer actually do that?
