yeah you guys down east gippy really have those east coast lows hang around for a while, looks like 3 to 4 more days in this one. might just have to spend a day or 2 out at the red bluff brewery.
Is only 5 minutes up the road, he's done very well following his passion. Was originally a soil and rock yard with a side venture for his brews.
Best to stay indoors, about of flooding around .

yeah the local scene has really emerged from nowhere over the last 10 years, last weekend at tananba the gippy beer fest showcased the breweries from lang lang howler all the way through to sailers grave in orbost, our local brewer YAH picked up the beer of the event. Damian ( co owner of Yarragon ale house) was pretty pleased.

Its great to have a local choice now as opposed to the foreign owned multinationals. if only a few of the local pubs could break their reliance on CUB exclusivity agreements because around here they are pretty much bland remnants of the 70s. its rumoured the railway hotel in warragul is due to close its bar and just maintain the dining out the back as its a loss maker but with a pultry offering of a couple of CUB taps i can see why there is little interest now that the bandalier has opened up round the corner and newmasons and commercial both have extended tap ranges.

Moe and Newborough are just as sad with their 3 pubs and bland CUB offerings. Morwell same with the Merton rush boarded up and the Commercial and top pubs again same pultry CUB offerings. pretty sad when the local butcher on George street stocks a better range of local beer than any of the 5 pubs in Moe, Newbourough and Morwell!

Don't worry - I googled and discovered something I didn't want to know.

treat timber posts with it , use it as a fire accelerarent to get bonfires going, the hydraulic fluid is generally pretty good after use compared to engine oil so that get used as a lubricant and bar oil for chainsaws.

look behind you poppy!

Caught up with this legend of country football (in the south west around Warrnambool, Allansford and the Purnim / Heytesbury districts) today in Geelong. Former league president Leon Herviou (Leon, wearing glasses is seen here presenting an award to coach Barry Rippon, we believe in the early 70s)...

Leon is 90 next birthday and is doing very well. We had a great time catching up as he's a long time family friend. To be honest, Leon probably knew everyone in Warrnambool, Geelong and the south west, especially if they had anything to do with footy and judging by the 200 odd Christmas cards in his lounge room he is still friends with just about everyone who hails from that part of Victoria.

google images offered to turn a couple of our pics into a panoramic, poor lindsay ( our hand reared angus steer) lost about 2 inches of his rump in the process! fortunately the other came out unscathed.
