Even when times are tough for the Eagles you really get a sense of perspective from the Essendon fans. This video particularly the end look from Petracca is absolute perfection.

Perhaps Lloyd should go have a chat to his mates Hird and Thompson about why the club is where it is.

Woosha had **** all chance.

LOL at the Petracca reaction.

The problem is the VFL media. Essendon never really had a good team but deluded people like Slobbo and gutless Lloyd kept on talking them up. Both of them are James Hird love children - the guy who destroyed the club. Woosha inherited a mess and they had decent seasons in 2018 and 2019 but have fallen away this year.

I don't think their list is balanced or has great depth. They have had a lot of injuries to key players too.

The Gold Coast are the same every year. Start off well and then fall away. We always seem to cop them on the Gold Coast when they are up and about.

I laugh when moronic VFL media talk about how the Gold Coast have had 'a great season'. No, they haven't. They have won five games. Fremantle have had a much better season.

I'll make a big call

Rowell stays fit and they would be still in finals contention.

If they get a full season out of him next year they will improve rapidly

Kreuzer and Gibbs both announce their retirements today

Remnants of a time of arrogance at Carlton where they assumed with all their picks and adding Judd to the mix that they were destined for a 3-peat. During that period I'd say I disliked them almost as much as Fremantle or Collingwood. These days they don't really bother me, though Cripps strikes me as the kind of guy that farts in the bathtub and then bites the bubble.

Just need Marc Murphy to retire and that trifecta of number one picks (2005-2007) will all be gone

Good news though, memorabilia is still available

For the low, low price of $316 🤣

Whats makes it all the more sweet was winning a final V them at home with Masten and JK in the team.

High-level AFL talks are underway to shorten quarters and extend next year's season to 28 rounds. http://7NEWS.com.au

So so stupid if they do this on top of less players on lists.

We are at round 15 and we have almost gone through our list.....

With the right list size. I love the idea. Scrap to pre season palava

Edit. I just realised this isn't one away one home game against everyone. Its just some other version of some bulldust. D

Oh Carlton. Embracing failure since 2005.

Yep - 28 rounds is random. What are they trying to achieve?

You can't cut list sizes and increase number of games. Madness.

* 18 game season
* Home and away rotated every year (so for example if WC are home to Geelong in Year 1 we are away to Geelong in Year 2)
* 2 week bye before finals to allow all teams to put their best on the park
* GF held at the MCG unless an MCG tenant is playing a non-MCG tenant. In such a scenario the higher-placed team may choose a neutral venue outside Victoria.

I think thats about as close as you could get to satisfying all parties.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I would be happy for it to be at the MCG if the MCG didn’t have tenants to begin with. Move them out and play the big games there but otherwise keep it equal for all parties.

We can only dream

Good point. That used to be the idea back when VFL had suburban grounds. Would mean non victorian teams could get plenty of MCG games too.
