It's to manage rotations. The game is so quick that it is hard to get to the interchange gates if you are inside 50 for a lot of the game. After a goal is the best timeI have never been able to get my head around the fact that they take small forwards off immediately after they kick a goal. I was always impressed how sometimes they could kick two or three quickly, sort of like Sheed did against the Pies. Momentum can be a very powerful thing sometimes, running off immediately after kissing a goal destroys it
