Can't help but feel disappointed with our team, we didn't embrace the challenge this year presented. Tigers and Geelong did and it paid off, I'm also disappointed in Simpson's end of season address. Prefer more sting in the tail, we massively underperformed this year! Trading the future for Kelly was a clear indication we thought we'd be up there. We went to Queensland for the first time under prepared.
Not sure what to expect next year, should be top two.

I think Martin is like Nic Nat to Freo fans, the constant coverage and fawning is annoying, but I find the guy himself pretty likeable.

He just goes about his business, is a bit shy, a bit of a lad and he's also an unbelievable footballer. Easily the best finals player I've seen.

I’m not sure he’s a bit shy based on stories I’ve heard off field. I think he just makes an effort to stay away from the media

The start (well that whole thing) was utterly beautiful, the despair, bitterness, shell shock. I was so happy Fox left it when replaying the game the following day as I couldn’t see it live.

I will get shouted down for saying this, but his early season addresses to the media vis-a-vis the hubs wasnt a good look either, and I was really down on the side after that. Yes I know we didnt know when we were going to get to go home and all that, but when you are the face of a club going through adversity you knuckle under and give the media nothing. Simmo's presser absolutely came across as whinging, the media ate it up and you can bet the farm that oppo teams used it as psychological fodder on gameday. Instead of looking like a side who embraced adversity and aimed to get it done in spite of it all we looked soft on the national stage and got what we deserved in the end.

No excuses in 2021, Simmo. You and the boys are in Queensland to take names and win premierships. Lose the "dad club" tag and get back to the business of being the greatest club in the land.

Richmond adjusted and moved their spare from sweeping behind play to sweeping the centre square corridor after half time and Geelong found themselves unable to move the ball through the centre anymore, going wide which played into exactly what Richmond want opponents to do against them.

Credit to Hardwick, his coaching (with the assistance of D.Martin's clinicality in big moments) won this premiership.

It’s an interesting thing with Hardwick... There was some venting from Richmond fans after their poor start to the season, the immediate call was the loss of Caracella having a major impact.. He is losing both Leppitsch and McRae now.
But.. 3 premierships says it all. He can coach clearly. So I begrudgingly give him credit.

Martin is heads and shoulders above the rest. His durability has been so important to Richmond, he just never misses.

Definitely, he's a very fair player and for someone with his reputation isn't dirty at all really.

Selwood, Ablett and Dangerfield are infinitely more unlikeable imo, so I'll take a small bit of joy from them missing out today. Even if I can't stand Richmond, who have the absolute worst supporters on this site and some of the least likeable players, second only to maybe Geelong.

Which is why I reckon this one is easier to stomach, both teams are so unlikeable.

I thought they might've been preserving him through finals for a full game in the middle for the GF. Guess I was wrong, they stuck to their plan but it fell apart in the second half.

Full credit to Richmond to have been able to run over the top of The Dick Eaters, after they went down a player so early in the game, that is quite an achievement.
Thats difficult to do.

They are so well drilled and well coached and as much as it shits me to say this, unless we find a way to get a harder edge and play a more totally team orientated and focused game style, we will be lagging behind them.
