Rendell's Interview:

Talked about his drafting in St. Kilda, said that Thomas playing them straight away helped get the km's into them that you see paying off now.

More talk about St. Kilda in 2004 and how they were unlucky.

Phil Davis - Still growing into his body, going very well. Surprised if he's needed, seen as a KPD, will slot in next year.

Jack Watts - Criticism isn't good, still adjusting, if he was a Melbourne based team he'd take Watts, anywhere else, Naitanui. Both stars, didn't interview either as they wouldn't fall.

QLD players - all the good ones are gone, top three NT also going to GC, nothing really left out of those 2 states.

Alice Springs - a few could pop up there, their not noticed.

Top 3 in this year - Morribito, Scully, Trengove. (no order mentioned)

Carnival - Travelling teams have all been dissapointing. WA very very good.

Says that there's not too much difference between 2nd round and rookie draft this year so get your 1t round right

Not a lot of help from KB in the interview, nothing really crows related, I would have loved to ask a few questions, but it seems we'll have to wait for Matty to rock up at someones birthday party again for a more indepth analysis.

Of course not, but I'd at least expect him to be asked about it!


Also, with the three rising star noms this season (all recruited in Rendell's time, though Walker can't really be attributed to him) and with the whole focus on Adelaide suddenly having youth, you'd think there'd be a question in there to ask. Sounds like lazy journalism to me.

I'd like Rendell to be watching Gary Rohan though, a speed demon with good disposal from what I hear, and Roland Ah Chee tore it up.

I wouldn't think Rendell or any recruiting manager is concerned with players they have already drafted. As soon as lasy years draft was over, his focus would be n the next draft. It is up to the coaching panel to worry about who Rendell has given them.
