Terrible news for Knights, but it may just keep Petrenko and Otten in the side long enough to be viable trading options.
Personally, I think Dangerfield could see a spike in scoring, and the other two should be safe for a few weeks longer.

Match review panel findings for Round 2:

BRETT Kirk will face the tribunal for making contact with an umpire, while Daniel Motlop and Adam McPhee have been suspended.

Kirk was cited for making contact while following Sam Mitchell during the Swans victory on Saturday night. The match review panel referred his case straight to the tribunal.

McPhee is facing two matches on the sidelines for striking Freo's Scott Thornton. Because of carryover demerit points, he doesn't get a reduction in the suspension for pleading guilty.

Motlop has been offered a one-match ban for striking Eagle Adam Hunter.

The Western Bulldogs' Jason Akermanis escaped with a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points for making front-on contact with Roo Scott Thompson, the same penalty offered to Tiger Jake King for engaging in rough conduct against Cat Steve Johnson.

Luke Power and Angus Montries have been fined $1950 for making negligent contact with an umpire.

Reports against Jonathon Brown, Heath Shaw, Chris Johnson, Troy Chaplin, Michael Gardiner, John Anthony and Daniel Kerr were all thrown out.

So the crows have these players missing: Stevens, Knights, Bock, Hentschel, Symes.

Good news for Petrenko, Otten and Dangerfield owners

Might have to get Petrenko in as he will most likely play long enough to make sufficent money now.

Great news for Cats on Ottens' knee

GEELONG has received the best possible news on premiership ruckman Brad Ottens with scans on Monday downgrading the seriousness of his knee injury.

It was initially feared that Ottens had ruptured an ACL during the match against Richmond and would miss the season. But after the match the club was hopeful that he had only torn his medial ligament and would miss four to six matches.

However, they sent him for further scans on Monday and they provided even better news.

Ottens has now been diagnosed with a slight grade one medial ligament strain and is expected to miss two to four weeks.

He injured his knee when he fell awkwardly after a ruck contest in the first quarter of Geelong’s win over the Tigers. It brought a premature end to a horror day for the ruckman after he also injured himself in a collision in the pre-game warm-up.

The right-knee injury is the latest setback for the premiership ruckman who missed the first nine games of last season with a foot injury.

The news was terrible however for draftee Mitch Brown with scans confirming he will miss the entire 2009 season with a broken leg.

The club’s first draft pick of the 2008 NAB AFL Draft suffered the break during a VFL practice match on the weekend at Skilled Stadium.

Ottens was an integral part of Geelong's 2007 premiership team and also played one of his finest games in the cliffhanging preliminary final victory over Collingwood the week before.

He put in another fine performance in the 2008 grand final which the Cats lost.

Now, to hold or not to hold Ottens....

But will the cats be precautious and give him at least 4 weeks due to them being able to win without him anyway. They wont force him back too quickly, everyone knows the cats.

I was wondering the same thing DWD. As Thompson said, they went 9-0 at the start of last year without Ottens playing a single game, so he certainly isn't a crucial to them as ruckmen are to some other sides. I'm leaning towards showing him the door at the moment.

On the contrary Virgil he's so important to us and thats why I think they'll be cautious with him. Otto is the key against the Hawks, its the area where we can exploit them.

SIMON Goodwin says suspended defender Nathan Bock has tarnished the image of the club and the AFL and is paying a heavy price.

Bock was absent from Adelaide training today after being given some days off by the club.

The All-Australian defender was suspended indefinitely by the Crows yetserday after being charged by police with assaulting his girlfriend at an Adelaide hotel on Saturday night.

Bock has also been fined $5000 under the players code of conduct and ordered to perform community service work.

Goodwin says he's unsure when Bock will be available for selection but has suggested it could be some time before he returns.

This is very true, Ottens would be up there with Scarlet in players that the Cats would struggle to replace.

Article regarding Coughlan:

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25305815-19742,00.html

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but he picked up 41 touches and laid 10 tackles in a ressies game. Those are huge stats.

Mentions McMahon aswell, saying he "failed to fire". Ill be getting rid of him, dont think he will break back in anytime soon.
Also mentions something about Wheatley tearing a quad and will miss another six weeks. Cheney anyone?

Wanted to have one more week to look at Rance so I didnt really want Hill to play because chances are he's going to drop in price. Oh well

If he scores 20, he will drop by 12k. Not exactly a huge amount, could be worth holding onto for one more week.
