Not unless his shoulder is too bad to play. Saw he was holding it very uncomfortably a few times on Saturday. Otherwise, Spangher deserves his spot in the side. There's no need to go changing our forward line after it has finally started to click.

I personally dont think Pyke can fit in the team unless there is an injury. And really he is probably pretty handy playing in the ressies at the business end. I imagine he will get game time again next year.

or you can look at it like White being able to stay forward with Pyke giving better ruckwork than both and probably better than Spangher as a forward target.
TDL is also banging on the door it seems.

Spangher's athleticism and pace is a plus though as a lead up target. Has done very well at that recently. I'd be keeping him in and Jesse has played 2 encouraging games in a row so I'd be doing the same with him. I just don't wanna change too much after finally finding a functioning forward line that has kicked winning scores against 2 very experienced, finals bound sides (one being a premiership contender).

And TDL has been "banging on the door" all year. He surely won't be coming in after 2 very good wins after not being able to take a spot (due to injuries and not being picked) during our bad runs.

.

but it might be our only chance to give Pyke a bit of senior game time before finals against Brisbane coz you never know what will happen with our big guys *touch wood*. Spang could rest his shoulder.

AJ won't even get a Rising Star nom this year now. What a joke that would be. Any other 19yo's doing what he's doing atm, keeping forwards like Podsiadly goalless?

A complete joke! Should have got one a long time ago. Didn't really see much of him last year so can't say how Johnson rates against him, but I can remember a big wankfest last year over Stratton and how good he was. Noone has even mentioned Johnson this year. Absolute horseshite.

I'd only be making such a change if Spangher is physically unable to play. Not in to resting players a week out from finals.

imo its not about resting, more about conditioning a back up that also could also offer even more

fwiw, I also subscribe to the theory that you dont mess with winning form so...

Jetta has only played two reserves games so if he doesn't earn a recall it will be interesting to see if he is eligible for the NEAFL finals. Iirc Bradshaw had only played 3 reserves games last year but still got to play

The only door that TDL will be banging on is Sheeds, until he HTFU he will not figure in our finals campaign

That rule usually only applies if the senior team is not playing that week.

Sam Blease gets it, give me a break! They played the Coasters in Melbourne and struggled to get over the line. Luke Parker had a better game on the Gold Coast in a win of 70 points and yet couldn't get one:rolleyes:

26 possies and 2 goals for Parker against GC. It's a strange world.

Not suprised Parker or AJ haven't been nominated for Rising Star, our guys seem to have to play 3 times as many good games as the Vic guys,
Most of the experts have Heppell as the winner, I would debate Reid holding down a KP would justify greater recognition also Shuey from WC plays in the middle against the very best.
Heppell no doubt great year, but it is easier to make a judgement when it is right in your face, Vic media lazy and dumb

Malceski and Jetta named for the reserves so I guess that means Bevan is staying behind in Sydney as the emergency. LRT and Everitt also named with Meredith dropping back from the seniors last week.

Bevo named here, so my info above may have been wrong. Of the 3 emergencies, he's the one that 'least' needs the run.

B: Tim Wales, Jack Lynch, Blake Guthrie
HB: Nick Malceski, Paul Bevan, Stephen Wray
C: Jackson Potter, Kane Murphy, Lewis Jetta
HF: Trent Dennis-Lane, Andrejs Everitt, Jarred Moore
F: Mark Seaby, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Jed Lamb
Foll: Mike Pyke, Brett Meredith, Nathan Gordon

Inter (from): Campbell Heath, Andrew Moody, Mitch Crawford, Nathan Kenny, Mitch May

Where's McNeill

Grimlocks assessment of no room in the squad would be fair. He's not going to get a finals call up. Where as if injury's were to hit hard over the next fortnight, 12 of the playing list are two deep in their positions possibly going to play (Some very unlikely but still).

However it is also perhaps a strong indication that McNeill is not going to be promoted onto the senior list next year and may have to take the third year spot on the rookie list.
