Ressies were severely undermanned today so it was a real credit to the boys out there that we were still a chance of winning late in the fourth. That and the Lions missing a lot of chances. Firstly Spangher did not play, not sure why but as mentioned previously he was off the ground late in last weeks game.
Seaby started as a forward, did a few taps but called it quits not long after. Jed lamb only played the second half and add Malceski pulling out for the seniors game we didn't have many on the field thanks to Nippa's suspension (confirmed in a pure game interview) and kruger and Biggs injured too
Walsh was my best. In the first half he provided an important focal point in attack and held onto many marks. Broome was also lively but faded after a hot first quarter. Cunningham and Meredith did a lot of wOrk around the ground, the latter in a role from defence where he was under a lot of pressure throughout the game. TDL pushed very high up the ground but ran forward hard when we won the ball. Very potent around goals and looks to have added a physical element to his game when he busted through a few tackles one on one to run into open goals
Mitchell didn't play midfield again. To me it seemed his role was a halfback wing outside runner. Parker started at half forward but drifted to the middle as the game progressed and I felt improved his contribution to the team. He will be better for this run and with the reserves having the bye next week he will surely get a recall to the seniors. Possibly as the sub
