How much has he improved since he left the pies! I was at the game today and his skill level was ridiculously good! He was pinpointing difficult passes and dashing off the back line all day. I was quite annoyed at how much he had improved but I suppose he had to go in the end.

Good luck to him I say

Didnt watch it, but it was a nab cup game against Port so little or no pressure.

Still good luk to him hope he does well up north

Uh, his short kicking on the run has always been pretty good. All of his passes were either to wide open players or players the bare minimum 20m away. He's been good at directing that little chip pass - It's when he tries to do something longer that he struggles. Moreover, no player kicks it poorly every time: It's the inconsistency in kicking that gets people a reputation as a bad kick.

He played pretty well, but he played pretty well for us when he was in our side too - He was just being edged out by our younger players.

He was probably just standing out because the rest of his team weren't trying very hard.

Shaw was easily one of the best players for the Swans today (which wasnt hard). He had much more pace than most of our other players, he didnt make any stupid mistakes and he was very penetrating and accurate with his kicks.

Rhys's main problem is pressure, he gets the ball yes, but whats the point if your gonna give it up?
He's soooo frustrating sometimes, too inconsistent for us.

Good luck to him, but if Sydney fans think he's going to suddenly improve his kicking at his age, they're deluded.

The thing with Rhyce was never his actually kicking, it was his kicking under pressure or into tight areas.

The NAB cup is as low pressure as you can get, and while I wish him well, I am just so glad there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF HIM PLAYING FOR COLLINGWOOD THIS YEAR.

16,16,12,8,14,18, is the amount of games he has played for us in his career, cmon, no wonder we struggled towards the end of last year if he was playing week in week out.

Good luck Rhyce, but also good riddance.

he has no heart, he needs to go see the wizard of oz...he was never going to be any good at the pies anyway

No heart!?? WTF? There's no doubt it was good for the both player and our club that Rhyce moved on but to say the fella had no heart I've gotta say you've got it wrong. If Rhyce's skills matched his heart he would be still at Collingwood. I think you might wish to go back and think about his surname and what the Shaw family means to Collingwood.

I said on this baord about 3 weeks ago that Paul Roos was super impressed with Rhyce Shaw preseason

And Rhyce Shaw has loved being up at Sydney no one knows who he is so its been a good move for both club and player still is one of my favourites

Will be a good buy for Supercoachs this year

This is one of the biggest myths about Rhyce's ability. He has always been a very good kick on the run and on his right foot - always flat and accurate. The problem he had was that he had no left foot, therefore was easily put under pressure and forced to kick out wide (or kick a checkside) instead of straightening on his left. When he has space and time, he is one of the more accurate short / medium passes in our team.

Good luck to him.

This happens with alot of players when they get traded they have a Good Pre-Season and look better but remember this is the NAB Cup and as people say the Pressure is not very high in those games.

Those good on him for showing a bit up at Sydney but He was finshed at the Pies and plus remember he wanted out

I slightly disagree with this. If he was still around he'd still be around the mark of the best 22 this year. His deffinately extended his career by moving to Sydney especially with Kennelly going home.

He probably would still get games at AFL level for us but also they said he wanted out for 3 seasons.

As you said he will play longer at sydney at collingwood because of Kennelly and plus we had players like Barham as Replacements for Shaw and we got Rounds with the Pick recieved for him and he could easily play Shaws old Role
