Was very impressed with his performance, not only what he did with the ball but the composure he showed under pressure.

He got better as the game went on. He still has a lot to learn, but that's what the pre-season is for.

My favourite draftee from last year. This kid will be a gem. :thumbsu:

Loved his goal late in the game, and didn't he love it too? Such flair, great skills, huge engine, and he's an X-Factor.

He is (or at least was) at $16 for the Rising Star, I'm tempted by those odds. But I'm just not sure how much he'll play this year, he was pushed around at times tonight by some bigger bodies. All in all, he showed some great signs tonight.

I watched Palmer closely last night and have to say that i thought he was ignored by a lot of the senior players when he was in space. I thought that had he actually been utilised properly by his team mates he would have been one of the best on ground. It was not until the last quarter that players started backing him a bit and he ended up with a goal and quite a few possessions.

I know Pav is a great player but there were two occasions when he blatantly ignored Palmer in space and attempted unrealistic shots at goal... missing both times - very disappointing considering the score margin at the time was quite large.

Palmer is a gun in the making, should win the rising star or at least be the best of the first year players taken in last years draft. Classy user of the ball and exactly what you guys need. :thumbsu:

You need to earn that confidence from your team mates before they back you in in certain situations.

I agree, but this is the NAB cup not the Pavlich show; IMO the pre-season comp is a tool to help build the confidence of the kids and give them some senior experience, not use them as a last resort when there are no other options.

I agree, these PRACTICE games give the players time to get to know each others games. I reckon they know alot more about Palmers traits now and will learn more as these PRACTICE matches progress.

For one thing, Kiwi and Pav will become acustomed to that "irritating mossie" running around at their feet, telling them what to do.

I thought the kid showed great composure on his first kick and each possesion after.

Great pick up by you guys, he will be a gem:thumbsu:

yep, he's going to be pretty good this kid. Been a fan since I first saw him at WAFL, glad he's keeping it going. The confidence is fantastic.
