Doc Larkins said amputation is likely.
Should be OK next week.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.

And I reckon if we didn't have blitz it wouldn't work.
Can't knock the saints for it. I really like hickey. Similar player.

The pair is a key factor. They are stronger a pair than each individual... but that means that it has an element of luck to it . Blitz was not planned as a midfielder. The recruitment managers will be after talls with gut running ability this year.

But they won't find them.
These guys have both had 3 years put into them.

There's no quick fix.
If I was a recruiter I'd prioritise drafting like this.

1/ hard nut who can kick
2/ hard nut who can handball
3/ hard nut

Is Ziebell out of contract?

Scott on Ch 7's Game Day just then - still unsure on severity of Stanley's injury. But docs knew when Duncan hurt his foot that it was serious, and they don't think that about Stanley, so prognosis is relatively positive.

We are due some luck. Hopefully no structural damage.

When he was at the Saints he had a few very good games but was average at best in 99% of the others. I always thought he had the potential to be a superstar with the right staff and mindset behind him so I was sad to see him leave the Saints- I think you guys will mould him into a much better player than we could though. Look forward to watching him over the next few years.

I'm just hoping Goddard will be good for us so it'll be a win-win haha.

I think if Simpson was for against say 211 the size of Simpson at the centre bounces would help.

But like you, I was sitting there tonight watching him work - and it was amazing - thinking that Daws has thrown the remote at the TV and left.

Stanley just killed it out there and Daws would be left wanting. Daws is a solid trier, but Stanley has him covered. And he kicked 2 goals. Daws has 2 in 2 years.

Go Catters
to be fair one was this beast.

(first one)

Just the way he jogged off to the bench I reckon he will be back following the bye.
If you are correct, you could save the club lots of medical and MRI expenses!

We can (and we are) building a team around Stanley and Blitz.

Yeah, I thought when the Saints had him they were looking for another Reiwoldt, and he isn't that. But in the ruck, who knows.

There is no HaHa about it.... if Stanley stays fit it will be a WinWin for both clubs. Goddard sounds good was always rated thru juniors and Im not sure Geelong thought he would last till 21. But you pay a cost for that Primary period that first 3-4 years, sometimes more of development. And already has shown enough to make several get on their back foot. It will just get down to fitness. Height V Talent he could be the best get we have had since Ottens

And kudos to you for having the courage to put your hand up, acknowledge you may have under-estimated him, and give credit where it's due.

Well played Sir.
This needs another read, so I'm bumping it.
Absolutely Cataholic, Bobby_ is one of this board's gentleman, a good sport who has the courage to admit when he occasionally gets something wrong. There are a few who could learn from Bobby's strength of character.

My gut feel on Goddard is that you have to nail what his best position is right from the start.
I remember watching his pre draft vids. For mine there was too much talk about him being able to go forward.

I think he could provide plenty of run off half back.
But he'll need time there to learn when to peel off and attack.

Very good point.

Personal Bias for mine. Not sure on certain aspects of his game style. Same with Gardnier... and yet he looks OK in Bris so I may totally wrong. Similar in a way to Watson. He should be better than those two , he sound like a real competitor..but I'm not sure I like that his attitude is compared to BrendanG.
Time will tell , and certainly dont wish the Saints bad luck with him

I think they'll be very cautious about his return, a bit of wrapping in cotton wool + give him some extra time. Sad though, Stanley was super on Friday night + we're desperate for him!
