I think we MUST play Reilly at all costs and bring him straight back into the side. So someone has to miss out. My pick is probably Bock

Yeah I would have to agree but he will get his chance again he is pretty handy just needs to improve to become a consistant AFL player:)

Do you think they would give Bock a second game, or perhaps give Jerricho a rest. Jerricho was looking pretty tired and leg weary in the last qtr. Big jump physically from Reserves SANFL to AFL. He may need a rest to recharge, what do you think?

Yeah that is always a possibility also just to give Bock another crack and to gain a bit more confidence at AFL level:)

The extra height could be advantageous up forwrd, and yes the confidence issue would be important to Bock. Don't think it would affect Jerricho's confidence - he doesn't seem to lack in that area.

No Jericho has alot of confiedence I think maybe rest Jericho this week bring in Reilly and let Bock have another go and then rest Bock for the Showdown and let Jericho have another go up forward and hopefully unsettle Ports defence;)

Probably Bock Stiffy, as already have enough height for the Cats. However, if Reilly is underdone, do we consider giving him a game with Sturt to get some match practice? If he's not underdone, then agree that he should come straight back in. Like the way we are rotating the midfielders at the moment to keep them fresh. Roo is now getting the support from Macca, Birdman, Stinger, Dogga, Gags & Bodey. I know it is only Richmond, but confidence is a wonderful thing!

That would be my thinking as well.
You could burn Jerricho out.

Also, does Welsh return straight back to the team, or given his poor form, come back via Westies?
Good question, whats his form like coming back from injuries?
I think it will depend on training track form, tough decisions on Reilly, Welsh, Bock and Jerricho ahead during the week.

It does appear we are in a rebuilding year. You do not have, essentially 4 first year players in a side, when your going for a flag?

Which would suggest Smart is going to struggle to get back into the side unless he has some outstanding games for South.

With Scarlett one of the better FB's in the comp & likely to pick up Carey, Carey needs to play as a decoy in a FP. So we need a Welsh or Jericho as a leading FF to throw-out the Cats defensive structure. The selectors may be choosing between these 2 this week & would have a bit to weigh up.

Thats a good though, Scarlett would be too good for Carey. Scarlett may have to play on Kenny though given his form. Alternatively Scarlett would have more trouble with a quick leading FF such as Jerricho/Welsh.
My concern with Jerricho is how much juice is in the tank.

Smart is needed as a mentor in this side, for the likes of Hentschell.
Bassett is in danger of being replaced by Smart at FB IMO.

Does anyone know how Smart played in South's loss to the mighty Bays today? Thought Smart was unlucky to get dropped ahead of Bassett. Not sure we can play both in the same side at the moment.

Smart and Hart are still a good combination.
Wonder how Parker performed, or is he a one season wonder?

I think Reilly should come straight back into teh side. His fitness is right up there and he has only missed a couple of weeks.

Welshy strained his groin so I would suggest he will be missing for longer than a week. Hart is very slight chance to get in this week but is likely to miss further 1-2 matches.

Cat's forward line is really not that big. I am pretty confident that the likes of Bassett :(, Perrie and Hentschel do the job on their talls.

Burns fumbled a lot against Tigers but I guess he did enough to hold his spot.

Reilly MUST come in, who goes out is another question.

Hart won't be back for the Cats. Likely to comeback for the Showdown.

And the Cats have to come back from Perth!
Good point & we have an extra 1.5 days rest. If we are serious about making the finals, this is a must win game.

You must be kidding! It's bloody April - how the **** could a 19 year old be stuffed, especially one that got picked because of his athletic prowess? Jericho will play ahead of Bock. Has everyone forgotten Luke's first match already?
FAR, far more impressive than Bock's, imo. Bock had 3 kicks for the match, let's not get too carried away.

Not bad, considering.
Played as a loose man across HB except for the 3/4 where he was across HF. Got a heap of the footy and looked a bit like the Nige of old with his run out of defence and generally good passing. If form means anything then they couldn't use this game as a reason for keeping him out of the Crows next week.

I was more impressed by his game for the bitches, er South, than I was with Bassett's.
