Pick 51 Aaron Joseph(Mid/ good user/ tough)

To get pick 3 we had to trade: Schulz, Pettifer, Tuck and pick 19 to Melbourne. Melbourne gave us Mark Jamar also.

Thoughts??

Why would Charman want to leave the Lions? Why don't we have pick 1? Will not trade Tuck or delist Howat. Nathan Brown will be back. Why delist Krak when i believe Freo would love him to replace Farmer. I think you have gone over the top in our recruiting of 4 ruckman.

Did Melbournes salary cap enter your thoughts??

We will not draft 2 ruckmen with early picks. We would probably take Masten or Grimes at 3 (If by some fluke we got pick 3) and grab a Mcevoy at 18.

Doubt we would get Charman.

Great year for Ruckman: Get as many as you can.

Can See Simmo playing an Alastair Lynch role in seasons to come, Richo has one year left.

Patto is not a Ruckman.

Do we have good ruckman schulzy?

Anyway your gone under my plan anyway muppet!

Just because its a good draft for ruckmen doesnt mean pick as many as we can. Our midfield is still a joke, get some more quality in there. One ruckmen this year and one in the next year.

haha. i am not jay. richo has a few more years. if patto isn't a ruckman he is in a lot of trouble becuase he can't play anywhere else. i wouldn't waste top picks on ruckman. start drafting ruckman in the 2nd round. we have one good ruck in simmonds another one would be nice and two more would be fantastic but four is over the top!

Hello Hello 1,
Gotta disagree with you on Patto after the last two games.
I think he's the best chance we've had for years of getting an athletic-type, thinking, quick genuine palmer............!!!!!!
Just hope he's perservered with and taught by someone a bit better than Monkhouse.
Actually think he could very quickly be a better prospect than Simmonds' great year in 2006

Don't think it will work out that way at all.
Firstly the melbourne trade is ridiculous. The trade doesn't really help either side. Melbourne don't need Tuck or Pettifer.
I highly doubt Charman will want to leave Brisbane.
Krakouer is worth something at the trade table.
Nathan Brown to retire is just paranoia.

However I agree we will pull a few ruckman this year. I think we might get one maybe 2 through trades, pick up 1-2 in the draft, and pick up a rookie ruckman and delist Graham and Knobel.

If Schulz doesn't make it as a forward(and isnt traded), he will be switched to the backline to see what he can do there.

Trade bait: Pettifer, Tuck, Newman, Schulz, J. Bowden, Krakouer. Don't think we can get much for those players really.

yep, think patto will eventually be a top shelf ruck. just needs time to develop and learn the trade. impossible to say what our picks will be at this stage and really is a fruitless exercise. learn a musical instrument, take up fishing or go to the gym. much better way to spend your time.

This is a joke.

Simmonds is without a doubt, within the best 3-4 ruckmen in the league. Knobel as a support ruckmen will do fine, coming on and off the bench.

Richo has at LEAST 2 years left, personally i think he could play for another 3 or 4 years.

Browny will not retire at years end, considering all we did to get him. He owes the club to perform.

Jacko just played a fantastic game, and Patto has been consistent the last two weeks.

Why would Jamie Charman be in the Pre-Season draft??

How do we have pick 1 in that, but pick 2 in the national?

why get rid of howat? been really good recently

We'll have pick 1 and get matt kreuzer, and not have to draft bellchambers

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but we only have 1 first round pick regardless of where we finish. We will not get pick 2 & 3....will probably end up with pick 1, 2 OR 3 and then 2 2nd round picks (eg. 18 & 19) depending on where we finish.

You missed the part where he said we would trade to get pick 3 even though the trade was very unrealistic.

What I'd like to see is:
First pick(1, 2 or 3)= Kruezer
Priority pick if we get it (17)= Best availiable midfielder (endurance and foot skills main priority)
Second round pick(18 or 19)= Key position player we can develop into a tall defender.
Third round pick (37 to 39)= Best availiable midfielder
Fourth round pick(mid 50's)= smokey midfielder
Fifth round pick= developing ruckman or key position player.

If we don't get Kruezer then go for best availiable midfielder and go for the best availiable Ruckman for our priority pick.

Pre-season draft= best availiable uncontracted player.

Trade bait= Andrew Krakouer for pick 32-40.
Kayne Pettifer for pick 26-32.
Meyer (especially if he wants to go home) for pick 47-52.

Must have known you would have to bunker down after posting that. If we are going to be predicting this kind of stuff at least give us pick 1.Charman aint leaving brissy.Melbourne won't trade a top 3 pick away.Moore, Howat and Brown will be at Richmond next season.

Unless he improves a lot (and then you'll keep him), I doubt you'd get that. Wasn't he offered around last season, with little interest, even from us at North.

Last years draft was exceptionally strong and not many clubs were willing to part with drafts picks so easily. This years draft is nowhere near as strong and pick 32-40 this year would probably be the equivilent to pick 44-52 last year.

Thats what i think Carlton are sure to win another few games so we will get pick 1 not pick 2 as most people think on here.

Kreuzer Will there for be a tiger.

Krakouer can get 30pos a game from here on and a few goals. I would still show him the door.

Doesn't mean there will be trades. Trades are a rarity. Everyone suggesting fantasy trades will end up disappointed. As for Krakouer having trade value - rubbish.

I would off load Krakouer for 10cents as long as we get him out of here :) the value don't matter. Kangaroos, Freo or Port will be 3 clubs maybe interested in the dud.

I would rather a midfielder with our first pick than a ruckman.

Picks 2 and 17 for example could be the next Josh Fraser/Brad Ottens and Dean Polo.... or it could be the next Luke Hodge/Brett Deledio and Cam Wood.

Also that recent study by professional anayalists showed that hit-outs had very little impact on the outcome of games between 2002-2006 and that a midfielder who can get the ball is much better value. In principle I would hate to use a top 3 pick on a ruckman, they aren't as important as some people rate them imo.

After all, Nathan Foley is leading centre clearances with possibly the worst ruck combination in the league! Tuck/Richo/Patto are in ruck!

Good midfielders get the ball regardless of who is rucking.

I reckon it will depend on after the championships how the recruiting team feel about:

1. whether there is a midfielder worth taking with our first pick and
2. whether one of the good rucks will be available with our second pick
