Yeah it doesn't make sense. If you got any theories I'd hear 'em but don't really see the point going back 50 years.

You owned us for a long time at the Western Oval back in the day. Even in the Hafey era we rarely won there.
Then I guess our demise ('83 onwards) coincided with a period of relative success for the Dogs with a few prelims etc.
The Bulldogs played their former ground very well .. players grew an extra leg in the wind.

Can't remember the year, but we almost had them. They stormed home. Mark on 50 just on the siren. Fake cramp from Harris-Lake maybe? Gilbee steps up. Slots it. Draw. Wayne Cambo in their coaching box just added to the misery... The Richo bag was the greatest victory I can recall against them. When he slotted number 10 - a beautiful snap too - absolute ectasy.
