RIP Drew Morphett

Probably belongs on 4th Estate, however I feel it is worth recognising his contribution to AFL and particularly commentary both on 7 and radio.

Drew was an excellent commentator who was able to call things directly and simply without the crap that commentators of today like Luke Darcy and Brian Taylor provide us with and was easy to listen to.

Think this is still one of his and the best examples of AFL commentary going around of all time in the North Melbourne vs Geelong preliminary 1994.

The Passion Drew had for the various sports he covered shone through in his calling. Had so much class, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm compared to the majority of commentators we're stuck with today.

One thing I did notice watching that, is that the goal umpire doing Geelong's end, I'm pretty sure he's still going now. Chunkier, but has the same moustache.
