RIP Hookesy

How unbelievable is this? The bloke is on top of the world as a coach, celebrating, doing nothing wrong and bang, gone.

The sorrow I feel for his family is just indescribable.:(

I really hope the fwit who did this gets exactly what he deserves.

I am really going to miss Hooksey.

Such awful news.:( I never knew him, but was entertained by him on and off the field. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Goodbye larrikan!!:( :(

To Hooksey's family my deepest condolences.

To the family of that guy my sympathies for the shame you must endure...

Tragic :(
I was too young to know him as a cricketer, but as a sporting personality, commentator and coach, he will be sorely missed.

Goodbye to a great Australian, and moreover, a great Victorian.

Not that I would ever condone violence against someone.... but....... the person below who appears in the whitepages...

(Edit: Personal details removed - Danni)

You get the feeling this person is going to:

a/ Change phonenumbers
b/ Move house for a while.

RIP Hookesy..

The injustice of it.. I find so hard to deal with.

Hope that sports lovers pay their respects by coming down to the MCG on Friday.

-ons.

Can we please keep this thread for tributes to David?

Talk of revenge and general speculation merely sullies what is a fine tribute to a great man.

Please leave the speculation for another thread, at another time.

As most people have said our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time.

He has certainly left his mark on the cricketing world, unfortunately he had much more to give and at only 48 was cut down way before his time by nothing more than a street thug.
