Things like kicking into the man on the mark may seem like just the odd loss of concentration and often you won't get penalised in a goal but in this case Jared was. Unfortunately though, these things seem to happen more and more frequently for Rivers.

When Frawley comes back, who gets dropped from that defence?

I don't really rate him to be honest. He does however play a bit of a Miller role in the backline, when a Grimes, Tapscott or other player gets put down he is in there to remonstrate.

Rivers isn't that bad a player. Sure, he never became the star we thought he could (first few years were terrific, but injured really curtailed him), but to compare him to a big oaf like Nicholson is ridiculous.

He is still quite good in the air, but as a one-on-one defender he doesn't have the ability to shut down as well as others.

Please find me a quote of anyone who enjoyed Rivers work last year other than that twat MFC forever who also rates Brad Miller.

His performance against Geelong last year at Skilled Stadium was on par with yesterday, and that wasnt in the first few games my friend.

Rivers has been slow (2-3m behind the leading forward in the first 5m) for years now. His body work has been poor to shizen for years now. His rebound has been non existant for years now. People have been riding his 2000 and FOUR rising star coat-tails for faaaaaaaaaar too many years now. He got pantsed by a newbie yesterday. But bugger it. Let's keep him in the side, and add in Warnock and Bate for shizngiggles.

You would have to have one to remember when Rivers had a good.

He was awful in the first half of last year and he was ok in the second half of last year with one really good game against Freo.

He was made to look a lot better than he was by the woeful form of Warnock.

He has clearly gone backwards, I just wish that the club would realise this. They should bring a young kid in.

Miller should be an option both are\were the coach's love child.

Rivers game on the weekend was possibly the worst i have ever seen from a Demon defender.

and that includes crap ive seen from Al Nicholson, Brent Grgic, Damian Gaspar etc etc

He is horrible and should be dropped. When he is on the field its like we are playing with 17 men.
