So proud of the boys tonight. Huge effort. Result hurts but we looked like a different team from the past 2 games. Bring back Walters and then have a red hot crack in the remaining games. Barlows last quater was somthing special. Loved when he pulled the jumper when he kicked that goal. Love the bloke!

Last week I said that the Nth v Geelong game was embarrassing for the AFL, well this one is up there. No wonder people are turning off of the game.

Hopefully this kicks our guys into action but that St Kilda game is going to kill us. Fear we are just making up numbers now.

Fremantle had so much fight in that. Umpiring was shocking.



... If you thought that was well umpired then you'll be telling me that the richmond v west coast game was well umpired.

Shocking all around. Geelong players high tackles, trips, complete mark overstepping, deliberates, throws, holding (on sandi and fyfe) while Fremantle got a free kick for pretty petty shit.

The umpiring was not consistent and pathetic. I think they are going to get a spray after that. Looked like one rules for one team and a different set for the others.

Freo had about 15-18 free kicks against them were legitimate, the rest were absolute jokes and I wonder how they were even called. Infact, 4-5 goals were from poor free kicks being called/no-calls (Hawkins holding Dawson after calling it non-stop for Hawkins).

This display of umpiring is what makes people wonder what the ******* rules are. Fremantle players like Sandy and Dawson get held, no call, hawkins gets a hold - called.

You can't have that ****** up inconsistencies in a game. Something has to be done with the rules and the umpires. It was nothing to do with the Fremantle Players IMO.

AFL won't be a World Game until the "rules" or the "umpires" are fixed and hard tuned. Too much bullshit interpretation and umpires are treated like "demi-gods" when they make a mistake. I'm fine with 2-3 and they are unsighted but I'm not fine with 20+ mistakes and it seems to go against one team.

The players who position themselves for the head high free kick have been a blight on the game for the past few seasons now, it's time the AFL toughened the rules in this regard.

I am looking at it from a whole perspective, not just one quarter. As I said, hopefully this kicks us into gear but unless we are top two it is a tough battle for us.

Beer ?? Bugger beer, nothing beats a chivas regal whiskey after a game like that, and I speak from vast experience. Good luck docker lads, you did real well tonight, the flag is there for the taking for you if you play like that last qtr. cheers.

Unfortunately we got nothing out of Zac Clarke, Sandi and Pav fwd. they each had multiple one on one chances and couldn't take a mark/kick a goal. That is our main concern but our mids were monumental.

Yes but that only applies before a tackle is laid, it can be obvious that a player is trying to draw high contact in the process of being tackled but umpires are still instructed in that instance to award the free kick to him if he's caught high.

It was deemed the Freo player infringed the geelong player out of the contest.

Watched the Ch7 post match presser and he started unusually upbeat, before it slowly descended into sarcasm. Even the knuckleheads on Ch7 picked up that he was one question away from tearing someones head off.

As someone already pointed out, no questions about the umpiring. Maybe a good thing as it could have been the first time a coach has been suspended by the MRP for an unlawful attack on a journalist.

Hats off to Duffy and Crozier tonight both played their role and impacted the scoreboard better than all previous tryers .
I'm still an optimist about our chances of going one place better this year .
The players showed great heart and passion for the Club and the jumper despite the terrible over the top umpiring .
theres not much wrong with the game plan and the players believe they are still a chance .
I felt for Pavlich tonight . He played as best he could but I believe he has lost half a yard in pace also being concussed 2 weeks in a row hasn't helped .
Silvagni will come into the team for Mcpharlin but I want Mayne to play his position and Silvagni next to Pav in the Hawthorn game .
