See, here's the thing. If this was the Saints board, or Freo or Essendon or Carlton, everything you criticise would make sense. You know why? Because those teams haven't achieved ANYTHING for so long. All your criticisms might seem plausible.

But you are attacking the RFC like we are one of those teams and we aren't. This is what gives you away. We have had incredible success and are now rebuilding and we are seeing competitive signs against like for like teams. Suck it.

To be fair we had Ben Cousins on our list for two years and that seemed to work well for the culture.

Not sure what disappointed me more tonight, Lalor getting injured or our own posters taking potshots at our kids and telling us they aren't AFL standard.

Been reading that BS for a few weeks now and it seems like any kid who has a bad game, misses a mark or shanks a kick is called out as not being AFL standard.

It's called experience, it's the exact reason why they should be played, they need to understand AFL pace is a lot faster than VFL and they need to make decisions quicker.

Does that mean they should get gifted games? No but if their VFL form warrants it absolutely and they deserve a block of matches.

I don't reckon the bagging will stop, some people rather give a throw away comment thinking it adds to the game day thread when it actually doesn't.

I'm all for venting, I know I do it when I see one of our senior players make a poor effort, but a kid who hasn't even played a full season of games? That's just poor form.

maybe we do draft sharp we seem to get absolutely pounded in clearance every week even though hopper and taranto get decent disposal numbers

Need Sharp & CDT, need a ruckman who gives us a chance at winning a clearance.

Ok here's an unpopular opinion, I don't think Taranto should be playing in the midfield full time. He isn't very good at Centre clearances and his disposal isn't good enough to be a receiving mid, if we do win a clearance.
He certainly can find the ball though and can win clearances around the ground but that's more in general play, maybe he needs to start each bounce as a half forward.
ATM Hopper is our only centre/clearance mid IMO he has actually had a very good year so far but he can't do it for 4 quarters. Yze and the other coaches need a rethink.

Lot of melts in here, people need to chill.

We're rebuilding, have already surpassed last years win tally and should've had another. Gonna be some pain but clearly we're improving. Lynch/Balta/Nank all out gave us practically no chance and we were still absolutely in the game heading into the last quarter.

Hope Lalor is ok.

Was really happy with the way we fought it out. We were always going to run of legs in the last qtr. Mc Kay dominated in the last after being pretty ineffective 4 most of the game.
Loved Brown, Mc Auliffe, Banks & Grays games.
Soft Guelfi free & pathetic boundary ump throw in were pivotal. Scene was set leading up to bummers first goal with a text book dropping the ball by Clarke which was called play on allowing the bombers to regather & goal. How did the umps miss that ?

Against a good team we would have lost by 100 points today.

The team was obviously tired from the great pressure the previous week. We should have won that.

But now is the worrying part of the season is if we can keep up the raw energy we had at the start of the season or we fall into rags like we did last year.

Just hope 3 wins will be enough to avoid the spoon.

Rioli did not do enough. I saw his great VFL quarter last week. Selection decision was would he bring that, rise to the occasion?

If you look at the game overall it was once Dow got injured that our midfield lost most of its structure and we really struggled to score after that point

Like him or not he’s been a key player in our wins this year

Our midfield is diabolical and untill Hopper, taranto dow Ross are replaced we will forever be bottom 4 , Ryan, Green , mrj , aren't up to it
We desperately need to bring in more midfield talent.

The North loss was the indicator, No Nank & Lynch meant no chance. Ryan and Sims looked like they had Marbior as ruck coach.

Lalor full forward? if was he tired rest the guy completely. Dion Prestia vibes after a 5 day break last year. Timmy T looked cooked too.

Dow injured~ I'd throw mid game at Sonsie.... get value at the trade table. no point selecting Prestia.

Small fwds.......Clarke/ Alger for Green. Rioli was great in the VFL for a qtr. but doesn't translate to AFL.

we lose small Dusty, Bolton, Graham, Baker rotating through there. Replace with Kmac II, Lalor, Ross, 187 BBMs and play KMAC in there.

We use half forwards and wings for rotations is not zippy enough. Dow injured ~ any point playing Prestia? Chuck Sonz in there, would add to his trade value if a success

Both Lalor and Trainor have looked spent the last few weeks, because they are rookies. It’s going to be a tough few years for them until they get those pre seasons into them, just like our greats before hand

I’d imagine this was a line in the sand game for Ryan, who has shown again that he’s just not up to it. Not the first big bloke, won’t be the last. I don’t imagine he will be around much longer, but you have to play him and put the pressure on him, see what he’s made out of. Unfortunately for him, it doesn’t look like he has what’s required for this level

Ryan is on the list for 3 more years....a very blurry line in the sand.
