rodan knee injury....

apparently dave rodan limped off in the last 1/4 knee injury scans on monday....

poor bugger just as it looked like he was learning to run in a st8 line instead via darwin, and alice springs....

Ch 9 news showed him being helped off the ground. Wallace said he'll have scans on the knee.

Two players did their knees on the same ground last year in a practice match. Morwell gets another victim.

Just saw Troy Simmonds. He said they won't know until tomorrrow how bad Rodan's injury was. He said it had nothing to do with the ground and that the ground was fine. Said it was dissappointing that the bombers didn't field much of a team but that the boys were really happy with the way they played. They were rapt with today's game.

I dont want to put words into Kingy's mouth but the manner in which he worded it, "longterm" would sound like a season ending injury.

****** :(

If Rodan is out for the year thats fooked. He was really sposed to be the bloke to step it up this year and shine :(

lets hope its not to serious.... i really want to see him give this season a crack. he is promising for this season, fingers crossed he'll be right

That's how it sounded to me too MY. When asked what type of knee injury Kingy replied "worst case". That would mean Rodan's done his ACL and gone for the year :(.

bloody shame for the young bloke if it's true..he was just starting to show that he will be a quality player for the tiges ..and i was looking forward to seeing him in action this year .
here's hoping for his sake that it isn't as bad as it sounds

Just to let you guys know, Daniel Jackson came off about halfway through the first quarter, and never came back from the rooms. Didn't see the incident, but a mate thought he copped a knee to the back.
At first, I was more concerned about Jacko than Rodan, as Jacko looked quite bad when coming off, but Rodan didn't seem to be in much pain at all.

Unfortunately the ones that don't hurt much are often the worst.

If you do an ACL you can pretty much walk around on it the next day. Often you can continue playing until it swells up. Mere mortals like us would just get physio but the knee would be too instable for elite sport. So sportsmen have to have surgery, it is actually the surgery and the recovery that puts them out for 12 months.

This would be a terrible injury for Rodan. His hole game is based on pace and twisting and turning and we saw how much of those that Draga lost. Hate to say it but this is career threatening for D-Rod if it turns out to be worst case.

I heard on the radio he was walking un-aided after the game.

I also fear even if Rodan does come back in 2006 (assuming its worst case) he will never be the same.

Jeez, how typical is this?

Wallace comes in, and basically says that the two players he wants to use to help make us more competitive is Schultz at CHB, and Rodan pre-dominately in the middle. It was these moves that were getting us interested in the whole "but what if..." scenario. Before round one has even came, basically we can write off seeing them play accurately in these positions. Some things never change..... At least we dont have to worry about Ottens doing a buffy in his crutch this year...

Hurts doesnt it.

If you were asked to choose 2 blokes who were vital cogs in our side for '05 and the future they'd be very high on your list.

Shattered.

Im telling you,wer'e fukken cursed.

Every year we lose half a dozen players to serious injury.

Gone -Schulz,Rodan..........

As weaver stated earlier, with a game style such as the rodman it's not a good
looking scenario for David.
Hopefully his nuggety little legs are as tough and durable as they look.

Really spewing for the kid.

That hurts-was looking forward to see Rodan shine under Wallace-bloody Sheedy whinging abut the surface and not playing his proper team while we cop an injury.

********in Essendon

Please enlighten me. How is this Sheedy's and Essendon's fault? Perhaps Terry should have taken heed and not sent such a strong squad down there. Perhaps Sheedy learnt his lession after losing Solomon, in the pre-season, with a knee injury a few years back.

I was at the game yesterday, and didn't see any problems with the surface at all.

Bad luck to Rodan, i like watching him play!
