OK. 2009 version of Drummond draft priority.

Was named BOG for the NT in their U/18 clash with NSW/ACT at ANZ Stadium tonight. 30 possessions and 2 goals.

DOB: 21.11.90
Height: 184cm
Weight: 79kg

Basically, he's a midfielder/small forward. Great pace, a real ability to find the ball and is very smart around goals. Once he returns to Norwood (yes, he's a Redleg...) I'll be sure to get a closer look at him because he might be that goal-sneak we've craved for a while now. I'm not sold on him and will need to see more but he's one we should keep an eye on.

If it is who I think you're talking about. Probably the best talent I've seen this year in the SANFL (but Norwood is the only team ive watched semi-regularly behind North, so sorry if I missed a player from the other 7 teams)

(is he the kid who carved up the ressies early in the year then got injured before comming back about a month ago against Glenelg.)

if so. Pick him up now :thumbsu: (If it's possible.)

Not sure how he did against Vic and WA, but against Tasmania he was BOG with 33 touches (a game high), 5 clearances, 6 hard-ball gets and 5 inside 50s, and a goal.

Edit: In the match report for NT vs WA the only mention of Ah Chee was:

The NT’s best included midfielder Scott Taylor who was hard at it all night and never gave in, while Roland Ah Chee showed plenty of vigour.

He didn't make the best or kick any goals for that match. I don't think NT have played Vic yet.

Gee, he's been doing pretty well. :thumbsu: For a small guy he likes to win the hard ball, pretty fearless. Plays mostly on ball but shouldn't have any problems with adapting to the small forward role. I have at times questioned his ball use but will need to see a bit more to be a more accurate judge.

Riggy, that might be him. He played Round 1 vs Port got high in best, then made debut vs Sturt and I think he got 1 touch. Went back to reserves and played well before being taken by the NT. Not sure if he was injured at some stage, may have been.

Were on the money pretty well last year so let's go!

I'm sure Rendell has his list looking pretty good right now.

Yes, he is a cousin of Corey Ah Chee and comes originally from Alice Springs.

I think 184 cm is about 6 foot 1 inches in the old so he's not actually small, and having seen him (only once) for Norwood reserves I didn't get the impression that he would be in the top 30 draft prospects this year.

However, I really hope we try to pick up some clever potential small forwards at this years draft so I'd be all for it with a later (third round) pick. He's quick, has natural ball getting ability and a bit of flair so why not?

For the same reason, and because it is a shallow draft this year, I would hope that if Jacky is delisted we would give him another chance on the rookie list. ATM he is the only genuine small forward prospect we have up and coming.

Then again, at this point I just trust Rendell to come up with the best available goods!

184cms and 80 kilos is not really small.

Anyone remember Dudley AhChee?

In the dim, dark days of the Sturt FC (early-mid 90's) the 2-3 sublime touches from Dudley during a game were the only things that lit up a dreary afternoon at Adelaide Oval.

Ridiculous ability. Saw him kick the biggest torp of all time in the ressies at Adelaide Oval from the members side of the ground about 80 metres from goal. Missed but god it was a big kick. Same game he took a hanger in the goalsquare... and missed that too

Cult figure among the 15 fans who followed Sturt during those years.

Hopefully when Roland returns he can have a bit of impact at league level.

I think Broadie Dawe is one to watch, seems to be a bit of interest gathering in him in recent months.

I spoke to an AFL scout about Roland Ah Chee as I do a bit of work for the Redlegs and really like what I saw. The scout told me that he wasn't on his radar and doubt he'd be taken, said he lacked the flair and x-factor most indigenous players have.

Gotta say I'm surprised, and that was pre U/18 carnvial - might have to ring him and see if he's changed his tune yet.

As for Dawe, he's really good, going to be a super player.
