Not a lot of people are talking about Rucciuto winning the Browlow this year. I don't necessarily think he's been the best player in the league but he's been Adelaide's best by a mile this year.

All the other favourites will have plenty of votes taken away from them by their team mates.

What does everyone else think?

Don't expect Roo to get many votes, if any, prior to round 10. He dominated as our best player after that and he will bolt in the greatest number of votes for a Crows player.

Buckley to win it :(

Roo to finish 5th.

I reckon Roo will finish top-3. Outside chance of winning considering the poor year both Macca & Goody had. Macca will lead our voting early, then fade. Expect Burton to poll a few votes when he had his hot month too.

Well estimating Roos votes based on the BF voting:
9 votes - 3 x best in wins
6 votes - 4 x 2nd best in wins (so assume 1.5 votes, as opposition player will sometimes be 2nd best or BOG).
5 votes - 3 x best in losses (assume 2 2nd BOG, 1 3rd)

20 vote total

Probably not enough

I'd love to see him win it. Unfortunately I don't think the Crows had enough wins for that to happen. Don't the umps usually only give the top votes to the winning sides?

Copycat:p

Go you GOOD thing.

I think Roo will poll well but I am not sure he'll win it. He'll definetly finish in top 5 IMHO. He must get 3 votes in the game against Kangaroos at telstra dome. He might poll a vote in the 1st match against Freo. but after round 10 he should be racking them up pretty quickly if umpires have any idea.

I think Wanganeen will poll REALLY well in the 1st half of the season. He would either be getting BOGs or 2 votes. He is a very good chance iMHO.

Buckley probably deserves it more than anyone with the sort of year he's had.

Voss is also a chance. Goodes won't poll well because he is not a vote getter. Harvey has had another good year.

Peter Bell is a bit of a smoky.

In 2002 Roo did not have one single 30+ possession game yet he still got 13 votes in teh Brownlow

This year he has had six and some more in the high twenties.

Top three is a huge shot and could even pull it off as he is a proven vote winner.

McLeod and Burton will steal some but not many others.

In some games in our B and F votes we gave votes to defenders and team mean. The umpires are less likely to do that.

He should get between 20 and 25 votes.

While this is very much in the "...pinch of salt" category, on the main board a bloke said that bookies in melb have stopped taking bets of over $200 on wangas to finish top 3...

Leak or bull****, you be the judge....

Probably bull****.

I just remember his 1st half of the season and he owuld have been so far in front at the hald way mark it wouldn't be funny.

His 1st half of the season was superb and he should poll well. In the 2nd half he was quieter but still would have picked up a few votes.

I cant believe hardly anyone has talked about Riccuito. He was easily in the top 10 players for the year yet is almost a smokey of sorts for the Brownlow. He will definately be up in the top bracket of vote getters.

In the POTY thing i did he finished 2nd but my voting is different to Brownlow voting (mine was a 6-1 voting instead of 3-1)

But putting his 6s,5s and 4s into 3s, 2s and 1s he ends up getting 20 votes which places him 3rd, 2 votes behind the winner.

Ive got Riccuito down for votes in these games:

R1 v FRE 2 votes (28 disposals, 3 marks)
R4 v WC 2 votes (30 dispsoals, 8 marks, 2 goals)
R6 v KAN 3 votes (39 disposals, 2 marks)
R7 v COL 2 votes (31 disposals, 3 marks, 3 goals)
R12 v MEL 3 votes (24 disposals, 4 marks, 4 goals)
R14 v RIC 1 vote (29 disposals, 4 marks, 1 goal)
R15 v ESS 3 vote (27 disposals, 2 marks, 1 goal)
R16 v FRE 2 votes (35 disposals, 2 marks)
R17 v STK 1 vote (33 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal)
R19 v WC 1 vote (22 disposals, 4 marks, 1 goal)

Wanganeen wont win it. He wont score a vote in the second half of the year. Tredrea is the better bet from Port.

Roo generally polls well, gets noticed by the umps, hard, in and under, kicks long, gets a lot of it. And he's almost perfected the long, set shot, captain's goal, that should be good for a few votes ;)

Personally I backed Harvs on the advice of a friend, very juicy odds. Hope that one of 17 Brownlow leaks that has Rob wearing a 3rd CHAS medal is correct.

It wouldnt surprise me at all if Roo wins it this year.

Looking at the favourites:

Buckley- probably been the best in the league BUT other team mates like Licuria ect will take votes from him in some games.

Wanganeen- has plenty that will take votes away from him. Tredrea to name a big one.

Goodes- Has had a good season and not too many team mates will take votes from him. He was better in the finals but they dont count.

Crawford- Is in the same boat as roo, hasnt got many team mates that will take votes from him.

I reckon it might be a tussle between crawford and roo..

GO ROO!

This is ****ing criminal. Mark Ricciuto only gets 1 vote against Kangaroos at Telstra Dome. I seem to remember him being BOG with 39 possesion.

Roo can't win it as macca has already stolen a few votes from him:(

I doubt McLeod will win it. Maybe a slim chance if he can get 3 against the Doggies (that match isn't far away) and the Blues. I can't think of many other games where he was in the best three.

But my money's on Ricciuto. :(

I agree. He should get 3 votes vs Doggies but the rest of the games he won't poll well.

So is my hard earned. I think we have blown the money mate :(

Hart was voted our best against Brisbane - he got one vote whilst Lynch and Voss got the 3 & 2.

Just looking at our voting: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68667

He got 12 votes from 22 voters (0.54 per voter), and of course didn't feature in the final 5/4/3/2/1.

And Hart doesn't normally get many Brownlow votes.

I think that backs up what I've been saying recently; I reckon some of us have been way too harsh on him this season. :)
