I'd like to see the Cats pick one mature age midfielder just for some back up. Someone like Danny Meyer could be a good option. With Prismall and Davenport gone, there isn't a whole lot left on the shelf. A couple of injuries to midfielders would potentially see players like Hogan or maybe even Djerrkura thrown in the deep end.

yeah i agree but i dont think they will go down that path. need a key defender i think, we got one in gillies in the main draft but he isnt overly tall, i would say he would play on 3rd talls.

would love it if we got luke delaney from the falcons in this rookie draft, big bodied angry man who would fit straight into the vfl full back position and would be a handy recruit IMO. And 2 midfielders with the other picks

A kid I called for a few weeks back is in the same mold - Matthew Martin from SA is a big lump of a kid who plays FB/CHB.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you, another key backman and then the other two picks are best available.

Allwright at pick 16 for the Hawks in the rookie draft would be a great get for them. The bits and pieces I saw of him this year was pretty impressive.

Maybe I just got lucky and saw his good games but I honestly thought he'd go in the National Draft.

Then again, I thought Shannon was a good chance late in the draft too.

Does anybody know why we don't have any uncontracted players/kids training with us at the moment? Bit bizarre I would have thought. Bit unusual as I think it's only us and WCE that doesnt have anyone.

Maybe everyone we were interested in is training at other clubs? Normally by this time of year the recruiters would have seen enough of the players.

Like to see them snare a lightning fast onballer / winger, even if he's 60kg's. After trying to snare Lovett during trade week I thought that speed may've been an area that we may've focused on. Taylor Hunt looks to have a fair bit of dash but it's that wing, HFF spot that Davey, Lovett, Davey and the likes have made their own. Trav is OK in spurts but doesn't run very fast when he has the ball, while Tenace appears to have got slower week by week. Monty is very hit and miss but at least he backs himself and ND can't get on the park but shows promise.

In all reality your going to be fairly hit and miss in tomorrows draft so someone that can add a bit of bite to the list and a touch of excitement might help rejuvinate the club a little.

So why did we NOT keep DAVENPORT?? He fulfills all the criteria, more so than Tenace etc. I still don't get that decision

Would have to do with contacts. Either way Tenace and Davenport were never going to get there at AFL level.

15. Adam Varcoe :D

31. Bryn Weadon

rizzo what do you know about Bryn Weadon?

In the pot draftee thread, I mentioned him as a player we will look for. A North Ballarat player who was a serious ball winner this year. Played a sweeping, running roll and did it well. Looked to kick it long.

He has some speed - Just looked up he broke 3 seconds at the state screening for 20m and run a 14+ Beep test.

Endurance and Speed. Good overall package :thumbsu:

Tom Allwright is a very impressive pick :thumbsu:
