Michael Mascoulis - is a wingman dont know too much about him, is a good sizw at 185cm.

Simon Tunbridge - surprised we picked him, has some nice attributes and good size.

Callum Papertalk - stoked we took a gamble on him exciting player, plenty of xfactor, our Manson type.

Brad Dick - we have taken a gamble on his knee being okay, has been training with Freo and looking good.
Was told this was a toss up between him and Alroy Gilligan, but went with Brad Dick as he is proven at AFL level.
Lets hope his injuries woes are over.

Looks like a very decent kick on goal from that footage.

I like Papertalk and Tunbridge. Don't know much about Mascoulis so won't comment but he seems to have high upside. They were two players I was pimping before the draft. Brad Dick was a wasted pick. Its only a matter of time before he is injured again.

My only thoughts are does Shane Nelson have some massive off field dramas?
Or big injury concern?

How can you go from a 2nd round expected pick to not being in the best ~200 players

avg 22 disposals at championships
1st in the nayfan buckley kicking contest
sits out endurance testing
18 clubs pass on you

Erectile dysfunction/long term medical issues obviously

Happens alot in other sports. Guess with such a small pool of players we have it doesnt really happen as much here

I imagine we must have had our spies out at Freo's training and been satisfied that Dick's body is up to scratch.

I was really impressed with Gilligan for Claremont the season just gone and was hopeful we'd pick him up. He slipped straight through, so if he continues to work, maybe we'll get him next season.

I'm glad we've gone for some KPD depth with Tunbridge. I think Brown, Schofield and Mackenzie are all very good options, but a squad needs at least 6 options through there to cover for injury.

As for the others, NFI.

I think we very well.

Brad Dick - Proven AFL, only injuries stopping him. Last pick in the rookie draft, worth the punt.

Tunbridge - Know nothing about him, but being a pre-list 17 year old selection must mean he has potential.

Michael Mascoulis - Like the look of him, sounds very promising and has the pure talent. Injurys are concerning, appartently would of gone top 20 in nation draft if didn't have injuries this year.

Papertalk - Know nothing but was talked about on here by the experts.

Was reading an Emma Quayle article last night about the rookie draft and she mentioned that Nelson didn't go in the national draft because his kicking isn't as good under pressure as the kicking test at draft camp suggested. Couple that with his size and he doesn't get pick.

Having said that, she had him as one of the better candidates in the rookie draft.

Hey all, as a Pies fan, I thank the Eagles for taking a chance on Brad Dick, you will all grow to love him, he has one of the most infectious personalities, and is just a joy to have at your club.

And he can play, obviously injuries withstanding, but if you look back at some of his highlights, you may have got the bargain of the rookie draft.

Thank You Eagles.:thumbsu:

Are you trying to say we'll love Dick? We love Cox, it's anatural assumption that we'd love Dick.

Just think about it!

Haha, all we have left now is one Ball and a Goldsack.:p

excited by these rookie draft picks,

mascoulis and tunbridge were the two i were hoping that we got, and the reaction/talk on papertalk makes me happy,

and just quietly beating out the daicos is also sick beans on michael mascoulis part, to be on that sort of show, producers must have thought of him as a) able to handle the pressure of being on tv, and b) good enough to possibly win it

Can only comment on B Dick as he is the only one I've seen play and must say now in hindsight out of the available ex AFL players he was probably our best fit.
I was personally thinking Davis or Lovett would have been the ones best suited for us with their zip and bit of magic but didn't even consider Dick. He's younger and has huge potential to be that explosive forward we are craving to free Frenchy up a bit and give us a little x-factor.
Good choice:thumbsu: (stay fit please)

Oh and looking at the clip on Mascoulis he looks ok and seemed to handle the cameras and Daicos quite well, Daicos didn't look too shabby either.

Happy with Dick and Tunbridge the others are unknown to me so I can't really comment. But exciting times are ahead!

Looks to be solid picks. Really topped off our outside midfielders. I think Michael Mascoulis is going to make it in our 22 in a couple of years.

Callum Papertalk- I have my doubts about this pick.

Simon Tunbridge is a good utility to cover our talls

Brad Dick is an intruguing prospect. Hopefully we can get his body right. And he'll be a gun :D

If Dick gets up and going, then hopefully in, he might be tough to get out seeing its so tight at the moment.

Add Cox to that tight group, and things might get really interesting......

dick seems to be the type of player as a fringe player, going in then out then in and out for most of the season, i hope he can last the distance and not pull out being unable to sustain the same pace
