A WA police spokesman said officers are "fairly convinced" the remains in the bag are human, with a pathologist due to be called in to confirm the find.

Well here's one for the WA brigade to look at.

OK so it's just a head, believed to have been in the water for some time yet a massive exclusin zone around where it was found why they look for other body parts and taken steps to declare anyone who enters can be charged.... slightly extreme

Male, caucasian, 30-50, no piercings in ears, front teeth missing... Shouldn't be too hard to work out if he's a local. If he's dumped off a ship or something though, could be from anywhere.

Nothing to say how long it had been in the water for, but reading the reports sounds like it has been a while.

I'm unclear on the teeth thing. Are they saying they teeth were pulled before the murder (like with pliers and shit) or are they saying the dude just had no front teeth?

I suspect the latter. Could have he had a plate with two front teeth on it that is missing?

Certainly does not sound like someone with much money, missing teeth but did not wear a plate or dentures.

Police were searching an east Perth Apartment the other day. If he lived there, he must've had some money

He was missing 7 of his front upper teeth. I'd suggest a long term heroin user. But people don't chop up drug users and scatter their remains at sea from a boat. And drug users don't usually run up enough tick to warrant being killed. Dealer's usually cut them off when it gets to a few gorillas. I'd suggest this man somehow got into organised crime (i.e. drug dealing) owed someone too much, or maybe he might be a police informant. Usually people who have boats (or even hire boats) to dump bodies at sea are cashed up, so again points to org crime.

Should all unravel in the coming weeks. I suspect the police will have suspects but unless anyone talks, I doubt they will have evidence.

Wonder how long he has been missing for? How long body in water for? etc
