So pretty much those who have no idea about the Adelaide footy club think the crows will be 0-22 this year cos 1 player isn't with us anymore.... RIIIIGHT.
I'm actually pretty shocked that people think the kangaroos will thrash the crows.... it might just be me but when I put the crows and roos list side by side... I still think the crows list is better.

The majority of people don't though. Adelaide's best handful - Sloane, Walker, Jacobs, Betts, Talia - is superb but North bat much deeper. Adelaide's lack of depth is evidenced in the fact that Seedsman and Hampton, two players on the fringe of the best 22 at non-finals clubs last year, seem set to walk straight into your round one team.

Tigers def. Blues - 38 points. Tigers will be in cruse mode. I am bullish about the blues but the ball zips out to easy in the F50 and yarran and Houli will feast on it.

Dees def. Giants - 12 close game but Due to it being at the MCG.

Suns def. Bombers - Bombers are just that bad

Roos def. Crows - Upset here but crows to win by 22

Swans def. Pies - Pies will be exposed against a defensive side. Pies in there 3 games have all been shoot outs with zero defensive pressure. That will change against the swans. swans by 32

Dogs def. Freo - Dogs by 11 as they play Shitihad so well. Would not suprise me if Freo got up but the Dogs in a close one.

Port def. Saints - Port will win easily. 46 points

Eagles def. Lions - Lions will fight but they just wont be good enough. 62 point loss

Hawks def. Cats - hawks will be up for this to burst the danger bubble. Cats are like the pies, have had nice free flowing games. Will change when they encounter the hawks. hawks by 31

My first round tip is to refuse to buy any more old el paso taco sauce.
If i scroll down the page and cop that abysmal ad just one more time i'm tipping that i will boycott taco's entirely until at least round 20.

Richmond DEF. Carlton by 52pts- tight game at the half then tigers experience cracks game open in 2nd half.
GWS DEF melb by 2pts- jesse hogan misses 2 sitters in the last as pressure mounts on his goalkicking
GCS DEF Dons by 30
ROOS DEF Crows by 96pts - crows are shot since danger left
PIES DEF Swans by 10pts - cracking game will go to wire
DOGS DEF Freo by 6 points- package kicks last 4 goals of game to seal memorable win
PORT
EAGLES
CATS
lol

Hampton hasn't walked into our best 22, and is injured so wont play. Neither has Seedsman, had to prove himself in the NAB games.

Players into our best 22 from last years massive loss to the Hawks.
In: B.Crouch, Seedsman, Lever, Atkins, Milera
Out: Dangerfield, Mackay, Cheney, Cameron (inj), Knight (inj)

If Cameron and Knight are/were available they would be in for van Berlo and Lyons.
As you can see Dangerfield out for B.Crouch is obviously for now a downgrade but you could argue to remaining ins outweigh the outs if Cameron and Knight are available.

Hampton? no he hasn't walked into our round 1 team. he wont play.. Seedsman in the right role will be a good player. lets see how he goes.

You people across the border don't rate players like Jenkins, Laird, Luke Brown, Douglas, Smith and Lynch? they are all good important players.. especially Laird and Lynch. If they played in big Vic teams they would get noticed. People seem to forget the Adelaide oval factor.. at home we can beat anyone.. its all about winning 4 game s away from home at that will hopefully give us 13 wins required to play finals footy. Yes we have been given a tough draw (which is a joke) how we ended up with the 2nd hardest draw when we finished 7th after the minor round has me stuffed.. its like the AFL want to see us struggle with that draw.. but het if we are 4-4 after round 8 we will make the 8.. if not.. well we are stuffed.

Richmond Vs Carlton - Tigers by 27 points, will never be in doubt but we won't get away from them.
Melbourne Vs GWS - Demons by 20 points, no Cameron and at the G
Gold Coast Vs Essendon - Suns by about 60 points, Essendon are horrible, be lucky to win a game
North Melbourne vs Adelaide - Crows by 4 points, a real flip of the coin game but North are terrible in round 1 in recent years.
Sydney Vs Collingwood - Swans by 30 points, a 5 goal better team at least and will show on the night.
Western Bulldogs Vs Fremantle - Doggies by 25 points, will be an arm wrestle and they will break away late.
Port Adelaide Vs Saint Kilda - Port by a huge margin, will make a statement against a weak saints team.
West Coast Vs Brisbane - Eagles will smack them, another big margin.
Hawthorn Vs Geelong - Hawks by 22 points, Cats will look dangerous early and then be exposed.

i think we'll match a lot of teams between the arcs this year. our midfield isn't bad and we've certainly improved in leaps and bounds from last year in terms of ball movement. but inside the arcs (particularly our forward 50) we just don't have the cattle to worry anyone. we'll struggle to kick 10 goals a game...

Mate this is the round 1 tips, not the entire season

Agree. Also keeping the ball inside 50 is the worry. I can see you guys just playing a overall team defense set up. Clog it up, slow the ball and just by weight of numbers pushing it forward, then hopefully score. IMO anything from 4-6 wins for the year.

Before you make judgements on our list at least get your facts right. Hampton is absolutely no chance to play round 1 and if Seedsman is picked he will have earned his place through his nab form, even Troy Menzel won't get a game for a while.

I also don't know why you think our depth is bad, outside the top end players you've listed our best 22 also consists of Lynch, Laird, Smith, Brown, Lever, Thompson, M.crouch, B.crouch, Jenkins, Douglas and Cameron who are established and very capable players while their are also another batch who will be looking to step up this year, Lyons, Knight, Atkins, Seedsman, Milera, VB. We also above many capable players in the SANFL, Mackay, Henderson, Menzel, Hamtpon. McGovern, Otten, Gore, CEY, Grigg, Shaw ETC.

Bedside the point I find your argument even more bemusing considering Geelong did the same thing we did. You picked up Henderson, a spud who couldn't get a game at Carlton yet is supposed to lead your defence for the next few years... Scott Selwood, a fringe again west coast and Zac Smith, a fringe at Gold Coast.

BigFooty posters tips so far:

Richmond 33-2 Carlton
Melbourne 23-12 GWS
Gold Coast 33-2 Essendon
North Melbourne 18-17 Adelaide
Sydney 18-17 Collingwood
Western Bulldogs 20-15 Fremantle
Port Adelaide 32-3 St.Kilda
West Coast 35-0 Brisbane
Geelong 10-24 Hawthorn

Draw = 1
- Geelong v Hawthorn

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I think the Crows best 22 substantially falls away after your top half dozen. Every club competing for a spot in the eight has midfielders as good as M. Crouch, small forwards as good as Cameron and key defenders as good as Brown. The likes of Jenkins and Douglas are AFL standard footballers but no more than that. Of the players you listed I would regard only Lever and B. Crouch as potential stars, and every club has players they're just as excited about (Cockatoo for us, Moore and DeGoey for Collingwood etc).

As for Geelong's recruitment, both Smith and Henderson have proven themselves to be very good footballers at times during their career. Scott Selwood in my opinion is depth only, but again he has had a B&F winning AA-quality season in the past. I can't say the same for Seedsman or Hampton. You're also neglecting to mention that we picked up one of the best five players in the competition who will improve our side not only by his own presence but by taking pressure off his teammates.

I don't think Adelaide is a bad side at all; I just think there will be at least eight teams better than you this year. We'll see who's right come September.

Laird and Smith have also been in the AA squad.
Tom Lynch is #1 in the AFL for assists.
Seedsman is also on the fringe at Adelaide, but he has built some fitness over the preseason and might just snag a round 1 place.
Hampton is certainly not set to play round 1.
Milera is all class, and will probably make the squad for round 1, but he was not formerly on the fringe of the best 22 at non-finals clubs last year.
Brad Crouch is virtually a new quality player for the side.
Matt Crouch has been a standout in the NAB cup and looks set to step up.

Competition for a place in the side for round 1 is intense ... the exact opposite of a "lack of depth".

Apart form that ... you got virtually nothing else right either.

Tigers by 23 points, easy first game for tigers as always

GWS by 18 even without Cameron they should win this one.

Gold Coast by 50, pretty much a bye playing bombers.

North Melbourne by 6, this should be a close one give Adelaide historically match up well with north.

Collingwood by 8, pies love playing Sydney especially in Sydney.

Fremantle by 19, like the doggies a lot but Freo will be too good even at Etihad

Port by 15, think Port are a bit overrated around here. They'll get the job done though

West Coast by 75, this should be a pretty bad blow out.

Hawthorn by 30, Hawks too good.
