Ken has given Ollie Lord more of a chance than he gave Butch and Butch never had as poor a run of games as Lord is currently having. I get there's injuries but geez Louise. Ken's favourites.

Who exactly are you playing instead of Lord right now? He's been really poor, but he's important for structure. Unless you plonk Sweet or Soldo there, we don't really have another option.

Whitlock maybe, and perhaps it's getting to that stage given how poor Lord has been.

Yup, it's something nobody has really talked about - but he is not the player he was. And this is not due to coaching (before anyone jumps on the coaching)

He is getting outbodied, outpositioned and just generally outworked. When he does get position, he often drops the mark - or turns it over.

He's extremely hot and cold depending on the position of the moon seemingly.

Personnel challenges are a part of football. Collingwood had 8 of their best 22 out last night (that doesn't include Tom Mitchell, so arguably 9) and managed to win by 45 points, not capitulate.

The issue is where those injuries are.

Farrell, Sinn, Jones are the same player/position. With Esava also out, it means Burton needs to play taller.. Again stealing from that same half back line. Lai was likely next one in after those 4, and he's also injured.

Then you look forward, and you have Marshall and Luko - again, two players likely vying for the same position. Now we play Lord who has been extremely poor, but we have no choice but to carry him.

JHF obviously is a huge one, but that's something we should be able to cover (and the stats suggested we did mostly).

It's a large number of key players, but if the injuries were more spread out, the club could cover with the backups. But when the backups are also injured, you're left with this mess.

Yup - but nobody apart from Ken ever comes under any scrutiny. Our list is poor once you look past the top layer of cream. It is amazing cream. Incredible even. But beyond that, it's just dry vanilla sponge.

Yes, every team needs those role players, but we have far too many of those. We're severely lacking in that mid-top players, and then our bottom few are horrible to boot.
