I have to respectfully disagree, they they took apart Geelong and Hawthorn in an Elimination and Semi Final. Yes they were flogged by West Coast in the Preliminary Final but I wouldn’t say they were found out in finals.

I can’t believe I’m defending Melbourne, but they did win 2 out of 3 finals (both comfortably) that year before WC thrashed them. They deserved to reach the prelims.
