I plan to bring in Fisher this week and kill his scoring DEAD as I have done in recent weeks with Boyd, Shaw, Didak and Petrie.

Didak to Lobbe (purely for cash), and then L Thompson up to Fisher (no byes makes him very tempting). Will leave me with no emergency down back, but I should hopefully be fine.

Hi all,
I only have 31k and 4 trades left and ranked in the 3700′s but looking to get the highest ranking possible (should go OK in my leagues anyway).
It seems Ablett is a must have if you are to compete with the big dogs and Bartel has been ordinary so far, so should I bite the bullet and trade Knights to a playing rooke (this will save me a dounut in the forwards this week) and go Bartel to Ablett ?
Looking at the BE for Bartel and Ablett I think this may be the last chance to make this trade so hoping for some advice as what to do?
My current team:
DEF: Gibbs, Carazzo, Deledio, Enright, Shaw H, Goddard, Lower, (Hibberd, Puopolo, Nicholson)
MID: A. Swallow, Boyd, Bartel, Pendlebury, Swan, Mitchell, (Jacobs, Callinan, Mzungu)
RUC: Cox, Smith, (Ryder, Derickx)
FWD: Franklin, Chapman, Fyfe, Sylvia, Goodes, Johnson, Riewoldt N, (Knights, Howe, I.Smith)
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

As far as I remember EP, Ablett has a BE around 80-120, cant remember, but i do remember it being getable. Bartel i'm pretty sure has a BE of about 160 after being 170+ last week. I would get out of Bartel ASAP as i did right after his concussion, however i was lucky enough to already have Ablett and was able to bring in swan for not much turn around. But Bartel's ship will continue to sink fast, as you thought.

IMO i would do it, escape the bye that Bartel will have, too. And if it helps you get no doughnut (and seeing as your going for overall rankings) then even more reason to do so. Can't help you with which rookie though, sorry-obviously wait till the teams to choose though.

Just the one trade for me, Dawes>N. Roo

Roo is in doubt this week according to Channel 10 news. Has to get through the final training session to clear his knee problem

5 trades left. 60k in the bank.

I have cox and smith in the ruck with Vardy on the pine.
Thinking of trading smith out for lobbe to make cash and next week tradign him or vardy for a solid ruckman (likely mcevoy).

leaves me with three trades for the rest of the year. I have cover across all lines.

Wouldn't mind upgrading one back though.

Yeah I found that out moments after I posted. As long as it's only a week I don't mind, just going for a league win thank god or else I'd be screwed, I've got so many outs already N Roo and Buddy possible outs just adding to the woes.

so i still have Sandilands, reckon its worth holding onto him? 3 weeks out according to afl injury list, with a bye this weekend...

got 8 trades left, Cox Z Smith and Bailey my other rucks.

Need to trade out Dawes. Only have 3 trades left but I need to do this one. Can get in ROK this week or cop a donut and get in Pav or Fyfe next week.

Any thoughts?

Leaning towards ROK cos I'm still in eliminator and Sydney's playing GC.

I thought I'd hold off on trading. Only have 5 left and want to conserve. But could do the following:

Lower > any out of Suckling, Birchall, Fisher, Scotland (probably not Scotland due to his bye), 20-30k left over

OR, a radical trade that I've worked out is doable, but not sure if wise...
Z.Smith + Prestia > Lobbe + Ablett, bugger all left over

Could trade a number of cows, however Prestia is preferred given his average, and still allows me a DPP between mids/fwds even with him gone. Other options include Buckley, B.Jacobs or Mzungu, but all, to me, are better options to keep. If I trade Buckley/Jacobs, my mid/back link is gone.

Thoughts? The Ablett temptation is pulling me so, but I already have Swan, Murphy, Mitchell, Boyd, Pendles in mids, along with any number of DPP premiums I wish to switch there for M6.

I want to get Cloke. But heres the problem:

I can trade either Mzungu or Knights for him, though I planned to trade him in for Darling but I am 4k short of that :(

Should I trade Knights or Mzungu? if so which one?

OR should i trade Darling for Chapman/Fyfe?

Angrily got rid of Rioli and Didak after only having them in the team for a few weeks. Lobbe and ROK have taken their places... With Broges out again Lobbe could have another big one!

Luke Thompson and Cyril out
Hurley and Gilbert in

Gives me a D/P link between backs and forwards and avoids 2 donuts this week.

How much ruck cover are people running with?

I currently have Cox, Z.Smith, Petrie, J.Tippett and McCauley capable of playing ruck. This gives me 3 regulars, one of which I can play in the forward line.

Despite only having 5 trades left, I'm tempted to get in Lobbe either for extra cash (by trading out Z.Smith) or for more ruck or forward cover (by trading out Tippett or someone like Cam Richardson).

If I go the cash option, I'm worried I may get caught out if Lobbe gets dropped/loses form.

Am I better going the safe option with little to no cash gain, going the riskier option for cash or conserving trades and plugging away with my current rucks?

I traded out Smith for Lobbe last week but I also have Cox, Jolly and Hale. so really all 4 will play for me.

I can't see Brogan playing more than 1 game - Round 24 as a farewell game. Lobbe has played well so far and their season is shot.

I've still got him too, and I have the same rucks with Petrie in the fwds. My original plan was to trade him to Lobbe this week, leaving me with Cox, Smith/Bailey, + Lobbe/Petrie when needed, and 10 trades with a heap of cash.

But now I'm also tempted to keep him, given he may only miss 2 more league games.

(I'm assuming you have Petrie as well) If you...

Keep him: Save a trade (or possibly two, if you ended up brining him back in), have potentially the highest scoring ruckman in the DT finals in you side when most others have traded him, BUT need to find money for final upgrades elsewhere

Trade him: Make more than enough cash to make one or two final upgrades, open up DP link to improve ruck cover, BUT possibly cost yourself 25 ppg in the last four weeks (by having Smith as second ruck instead of Sandi) or cost yourself 2 trades (by having to trade the 211 back in!).

I'm leaning towards trading him given I have 11 trades left...If worst comes to worst and Sandi comes back firing, I'll trade him back in on the eve of finals (for Smith or Bailey), and have made 1 or 2 upgrades in the meantime with the $$$ I've freed up.

Phew! Any other thoughts?

So what are all your thoughts on Loobe's JS? I am considering Smith > Lobbe now.

Will give me as much cash as my previous trade plan of Knights to 80k spud and will mean I won't be trading in a non player.

The problem is this will leave my Rucks looking like this. Cox, Lobbe (Tippett, Vardy - Pertrie).

Will Lobbe play for the rest of the season or will he be benched when Brogan returns?

What do you all think?

Just did Richardson -> Steve Johnson

Could have waited till tomorrow night but may be out and miss opportunity to trade. Down to only 3 trades left but a solid bench player in every position and everyone in my team appears to have very good job security except Howard and possibly Curnow

B: Gibbs, Scotland, Suckling, Deledio, Goddard, Heppell, Duffield (Puopolo emg)

C: Pendlebury, Swan, Boyd, Shiels, Thompson, Rischitelli (Curnow emg)

R: Cox Petrie (Smith emg)

F: Johnson, Franklin, Chapman, Sylvia, Harvey, Lecras, N.Riewoldt (Lobbe/Mzungu emg)

Yay for my 3700 ranking.....:p:o

EDIT: @Pigsti I would think Lobbe would play out the year. They will be top heavy when Brogan comes back but Brogan probably won't play all of the remaining games. With Brogan retiring and the way Lobbe has played he 'has' to be blooded for the future IMO. Also, I believe Lobbe has played a fair amount of football as a forward and pretty sure (Actually not really, just I thought i remember hearing sometime.....) that he has played alot of football in the SANFL as a forward and for a while that was his preferred position(?). Could be way off on that, but I'm sure he will play out the year nonetheless.
