Barlow played on-ball on the weekend. Not sure what match you watched brother
It's not his position I'm worried about, it's that he's playing poorly, kicking like a *******, and may be dropped!
On that basis, their entire side should be playing in the WAFL this weekend. If he can't score well against GC we might have cause for real concern though.

Yeah agreed. I'm happy to accept that Freo was still in preseason mode and they got absolutely destroyed (without taking anything away from the Dogs, who played great and are continueing to improve).
I think they'll beat the Suns this weekend and both Fyfe and Barlow will go 100+. Sandi back makes a MASSIVE difference

I understand trying to conserve trades but I have a real dilemma in Greene. He scored 50, was weak, bounced off tackles, missed set shots and hovered around packs. Looking through his career history he does tend to go 50,100,50,100 but I wasn't selecting him to average the same as last year. I feel that saving a trade would only cause me to lose points in the short and long term. There are a few candidates to trade him to but my favorite is Wingard. Scored 125 on the weekend and when watching the game it was obvious that it was not one of those 'fluke' games where a player scores way above their average (I'm not saying he will average 125 maybe 110). However, last year he went 120, 60, 70. The other thing to consider is Wingard will most likely be a top 6 forawrd while Greene will not.

Worth a trade?
I like your thinking more than i do a lot of these trades people are talking about. If you have the cash for single trade then it is worth considering as you are bringing in a certain top 6 forwRd before his price rises. I would still wait a week though.
My concern is, if you had the cash why didnt you pick wingard in the first place. If you picked greene was it as a stepping stone or a keeper.

I picked Barlow purely on being a 'safe bet pick' knowing most people would choose him. But after watching him play I'm thinking grow the balls and trade him out before others and get an advantage. Bloody Supercoach.

Yep pretty much the reason I picked him as well, that and I couldn't afford Wingard and I didn't like the look of anyone else except for Jack Martin and I didnt have the balls to go with Martin.

Macro Paparone - was meant to be my left field POD extraordinaire, a young player who would show natural progression and add 10 points to his average score.

I know he doesn't play West Coast every week, but 38 points is 38 points (I know what you're thinking - ouch).

Bite the bullet now and trade him out or give him another week?

The advantage? Trading a top 6 mid after one poor game is not getting an advantage. Quite the opposite. All this talk of him being dropped is just ridiculous, its nothing more than people justifying a sideways trade.

Trade him.. Should get a game this week but you are going to have to unload him sooner or later.. Wasn't a SC friendly role, not sure who he was on V the Eagles but not around the ball much at all..

I didn't have the cash but went Fyfe to Ablett 10 minutes before the bounce which means I have the cash now :)

Did he play any of the 2nd half, saw he only had 58% TOG. Assume he doesn't have the fitness to run a game out just yet, kids a jet though.

Why would that be though? Completed a full preseason didn't he?

If I was to trade Greene, trade in: Wingard, S.Gray or Z.Merret?

Not really interested in someone setting the world on fire just want a consistent player.

Thoughts?

Hey guys. Kinda new to actually having a crack at SC. I got lucky I think and scored 2283.

That's my list above. Nothing too horrible I think except I got a donut from Hartley and I chose brown and sinclair(figured he would get a bit higher after watching him with wce last year) for some stupid reason.

At this point should I leave brown in for when he eventually comes in or get rid of him? My mid rookies I have no idea about just saw some names thrown around and went for the cheap options

Anything else you would look at?

Nice team mate and nice score.
Focus on fixing your rookies, you kind of stuffed of the rookie selections, but the rest is good.

You're probably going to have to use 3 or 4 trades (this week and next) to fix up your rookies

Options:
-Brown/Broad to Adams (how long is M Brown out for?)
-ADavis to RDavis (you got the wrong Davis unfortunately haha)
-Barrett to Hewett/Dunkley
-Cox/Grimley to Papley

Even though it's not good to trade in round 1, especially with rookies because they're all basically 1 bad game away from being dropped, I think you're going to have to do it ensure you make cash early

Cheers mate. Exactly the reply I was hoping for.

Brown out for 8 weeks but I dunno if broad will get a game so I was gonna trade him out for Adams like you said and keep brown for loophole..

Bit of a bugger about the wrong Davis haha.

Thanks again

Hey man, great effort for round 1 first up! You did well with a few picks in the mids, like Danger, Priddis and Gray. Rookies at this stage are the most important however, to generate cash. A few of the ones you have on the bench arent actually playing so I would consider making some rookie corrections so you can generate some cash :)

Only problem is those rookies you have that arent playing are the very cheapest, so you cant really get the likes of Mills 210k, Oliver 200k or BenKen 187k i believe. I would trade out Nelson and Barrett, for maybe BenKen and Papley? I think that will work

I'm liking the direction stevebbb is headed for you. I would start with Brown to Adams and Barrett to Hewett (or Dunkley, but probably Hewett).

After that, switch Davis' and look at Byrne for Broad, if Byrne is named and Broad isn't.

You may need to offload Nelson and Duggan sooner rather than later, but while they're getting games I'd focus on fixing your non-playing rookies.

Have Sidebottom, suppose there is the option of sideways trading to Parker / Cripps, e.g., but would currently rather save the trade, it's only two weeks and he might be useful loophole-wise.

1 trade for me being Robinson out for Z. Merrett :thumbsu: Happy with rookies, just moved Papley on to the field.

I'm moving on Robinson. Don't want a player bubbling with a 67 in his rolling average 1 quarter through the season.
