Round 20 Captain Selection.
Here are the round 20 captain stats, once again the scores next to the Av. The players average against their opponent and the scores after the / are the players past 3 scores against their opponent, I have also added a few of my thought on each game as well. The recent History is the teams record against each other over the past 5 games. Hope this helps you all.
Port Adelaide VS Collingwood
Venue – Ammi Stadium
Recent History – 2-3
Player Stats –
Kane Cornes – Av.86.7 / 110,116,134
Scott Pendlebury – Av.102.0 / 102,
Dane Swan – Av.89.2 / 109,96,95
Game Notes;
You would think that Cornes will get the job on Swan, but as we all know Swan is a very hard player to tag, and has a solid record against the Power, Cornes also has a very impressive record against the Pies. Both teams average around the same amount of possessions hitting around the 346 mark each.
Essendon VS Adelaide
Venue – Telstra Dome
Recent History – 3-2
Player Stats –
Tyson Edwards – Av.69.1 / 101,119,67

Nathan Van Berlo – Av.59.4 – 66,75,59
Brent Stanton – Av.83.2 / 94,103,90
Jobe Watson – Av.78.0 / 96,75,63
Game Notes ;
Not much to note here, Adelaide average around 40 more touches a game than Essendon. Nathan Bock has been in solid form all season running off the half backline, averaging around 22 possessions a game and scored 95 last time they played.
Melbourne VS Westcoast
Venue – MCG
Recent History – 1-4
Player Stats -
Cameron Bruce – Av.77.2 / 72,107,84
Brad Green – Av.91.2 / 106,119,110
Mathew Priddis – Av.82 / 82,
Dean Cox – Av.76.4 / 84,83,122
Game Notes;
Both teams average around the same possessions with around 350 a piece, Melbourne averaging about 10 more marks a game as well. Brad Green has a good record against the Eagles and you would expect that he would be playing around a kick and a bit behind the ball as he has been doing a lot of the year.
Brisbane VS Bulldogs
Venue – Gabba
Recent History – 0-5
Player Stats -
Jonathan Brown – Av.77.3 / 124,72,59
Simon Black - Av.80.1 / 113,73,115

A fair few solid captain choices here, The Bulldogs with there running game plan average around 50 more possessions than the Lions, and around 40 more marks.
Sydney VS Geelong
Venue – SCG
Recent History – 2-3
Player Stats -
Steve Johnson – Av.73.2 / 113,76,70
Jimmy Barltel – Av.83.4 / 124,43,88
Gary Ablett – Av.67.6 / 150,83,62
Joel Corey – Av.76.5 / 71,106,115
Andrew Mackie – Av.44.7 / 73,113,29
Adam Goodes – Av.75.4 / 72,102,99
Brett Kirk – Av.85.4 / 96,128,99
Game Notes;
Geelong averaging a massive 80 more touches a game but I guess that’s no surprise with the huge difference in game plans. Gary Abletts first week back and picked up from were he left off scoring over 100 once again his 10th time for the year. Ryan O’Keefe has been I great form of late averaging about 21 possessions for the year but doesn’t have the best average against the Cats scoring just 63 and 69 from his past 2.
Richmond VS Hawthorn
Venue – MCG
Recent History – 2-3
Player Stats -
Sam Mitchell – Av.80.0 / 87,119,133
Lance Franklin – Av.78.0 / 58,115,52
Luke Hodge – Av.77.4 / 119,99,48
Kane Johnson – Av.89.0 / 103,114,77
Jordan McMahon – Av.58.0 / 84,71,56
Brett Deledio – Av.83.8 / 120,69,93
Nathan Brown – Av.93.5 / 86,96,90
Mathew Richardson - Av.86.1 / 130,50,109
Game Notes;
Both average very similar possession counts hitting around the 350 mark each. Don’t know who will line up on Buddy, but most of the time it doesn’t effect him at all. Also don’t know who will follow Mathew Richardson around with his new role change in the side.
Carlton VS Kangaroos
Venue – Telstra Dome
Recent History – 5-0
Player Stats -
Nick Stevens – Av.70.5 / 82,94,66
Marc Murphy – Av.72.5 / 59,50,98
Andrew Carrazzo – Av.81.2 / 119,115,118
Brent Harvey – Av.71.5 / 95,116,75
Daniel Wells – Av.65.6 / 118,53,85
Game Notes;
Carlton average around 20 more touches a game but that’s not all that much, You would think that Rawlings would go to Judd, Andrew Carrazzo has a great average against the Roos and would make a more unique choice of Skippa this week.
Fremantle VS St.Kilda
Venue – Subiaco
Recent History – 3-2
Player Stats -
Nick Riewodlt – Av.103.5 / 152,107,107
Lenny Hayes – Av.82.7 / 75,113,75
Mathew Pavlich – Av.95.3 / 109,100,98
Game Notes;
Riewoldt has a great average against the Dockers and you would think that he would continue this, can’t see a match up for him and will rotate through a few players, he is in great form and will be a popular captain choice this week I would think. Both have similar disposal counts
