Only bummer was the traffic on the highway - f**king ridiculous. Didn’t get to the ground until quarter time despite leaving Ormeau an hour and a half before the first bounce. Trip home also took the same time but never as bad after super win.
In the name of the Anderson, the Humphrey and the holy Rowell. Holy shit what was that traffic?
This is where the new Coomera Connector should come in handy. Instead of sending everyone that's heading north on the one road (that eventually turns into one lane) towards the M1, we'll have some heading straight up the Coomera Connector and others heading north-west to join the M1 (see below).

The planned overpassing bridges around the stadium will help too because it should mean less foot traffic on the roads surrounding the stadium and a bus station on the western side of Nerang-Broadbeach Rd will prevent the need for buses to do U turns and hold up traffic in doing so. Having a ferry stop on the eastern side of the stadium should help ease congestion as well.

Below is an impression of what it's supposed to look like in the future when we upgrade the stadium capacity to 40k and build the boutique AFLW stadium slightly north of PFS. Having a hotel that has restaurants and bars on the lake will help also because some patrons will avoid leaving the precinct straight away to have a drink/dinner after the game.

Just watched the press conference. Geez Rowell has got a lot better at speaking to the media. Those first few years were rough (anyone remember “the facilities” interview… was hilarious stuff).

Anyway, good to see these guys having more confidence both on and off the field. Anderson and Rowell make excellent leaders and pave the way for the team most weeks on the back of their work. They haven’t been beaten too many times as a duo this year. Definitely a big reason for our jump.

It seems at times, if rowell and anderson are blanketed for any period of time in a game, the opposition's mids get on top and we concede scores too easily. Touk has been phenomenal, but playing Davies was such a reliable 'back up' to these guys and it unlocked something in our midfield, and protected our defence (who also played great). 30 touches, 10 tackles, 6 clearances, 9 score involvements.. almost a perfect game in that role. Graham and probably Swallow will have a hard time getting Davies' spot back from here. It's a great story of perseverance and resilience.

The other major story I thought was Farrar up forward. Anyone who follows this club surely wants to see this bloke do well. Always putting a smile on his teammates and supporter's faces, was awesome to see him do so well in his first senior game in nearly 2 years. Not sure how long term this is but he's well and truly earnt a second game.

All of this.
Davies was like Captain America's shield for Noz and Buzz
No surprises they found more space yesterday
And Mac ran from half back to congratulate Jy on one of his goals with the biggest grin
He must be "one of those" guys around the Club

Ben Ainsworth
27 disposals
3 goals
3 goal assists
12 score involvements

Who do we reckon is in the top 10 of our bnf at years end?

My guess below. Considering games missed etc.

Anderson
Rowell
Witts
Collins
Noble
Miller
Jeffrey
Uwland
Humphrey
Rioli

Joel Jeffrey has become a seriously good player.

Yesterday: 32 disposals (12 contested) at 90% efficiency. 8 marks, 7 interceptions possessions, 10 rebound 50s, 5 inside 50s.

He is a lovely long kick, fast and incredibly balanced - do you ever see him lose his feet?, strong above his head, composed with ball in hand. He has become one of my favourite players in the team and someone you can pretty much rely upon week in week out now.

A huge success from this year.

Wasn’t long ago (last week) I was thinking we’d lose Alex to more opportunities at another club, and Jy would unfortunately be on the chopping block due to lack of opportunity. Desperately hoping we can keep both now. Given how Alex was able to free up Rowelly to play more of an inside / outside role, and the new dimension Jy gave our forward line, I’m excited to see what they can bring if kept in the team for the rest of the season.

Adams has been great. Seems our club is good at finding delisted, mature defenders. Collins now maybe Adams. Add Ballard in next year and we are well stocked. Mac could be a wildcard in 2026 as to what position he trains in.

I was the same. I’ve wanted Farrar to play for a long time and had basically given up hope of it. Glad he is being used as a hybrid forward; I see him as a faster, but maybe less contested version of Long’s role. I think it suits our gameplan more to have two talls and more speed and is something I think Dimma will trial now for a little while. We can always swap Read and Walter if needed.

Davies is a more interesting one when Touk and Graham are fit again. Can we really fit them all in?

Watching Brock develop at West Coast, I still feel like he could’ve done a job with the injuries we’ve had, but Adams gives big baby Collins vibes. Obviously Collins continued to develop better than we could’ve expected, but give him 50 games of confidence next to Sarge and a few pre-seasons of size and he’ll be a more than handy heir.

I think having Davies in is perfect. Play him more mid to support rowell and Anderson as a crash and bash. Then have Graham and Miller as more forward and have them rotate in the midfield to rest rowell and Anderson.

We've seen how damaging miller and Graham have been playing foward so I reckon it'd work perfect

Yeah absolutely can have both Davies and Graham in. Graham can play defence as well if needed. Love the speed and strength he adds.

100% definitely. I just think Davies brings exactly what we need in the midfield what other midfields have in the comp, big bodied mid. You look at some teams like Brisbane have dunkley, Carlton have Cripps, dogs have Bont, Collingwood have long. All of them give service and help massively for the other mids to get free and more space.

Graham and Miller can also play Midfield to give Rowell and Anderson more rest for a change but also play more foward because we know they're great at applying pressure and can kick goals. Make our foward line more dangerous
