He wont be because Sam loves him

Looking forward to seeing him average 1 mark per game for the year
He won't because as of right now Hawthorn are 7th in the comp for Hitout Win %.

Reeves might do nothing much else around the ground, but the idea that we're going to get better at centre clearances by making ourselves worse at winning the hitouts makes very little sense.

Hawks v Handbaggers on April Fools Day !

Selections for this game will be interesting, including the ‘chosen one’ (sub)

We all (exc Bradkli) *ing hate those pussies but I can only foresee a bloodbath, unless something drastically changes (game plan, selections, attitude)

Miracles can happen on Easter Monday but I have my doubts.

IN: Huss Mitchell Phillips Ramsden
OUT: Maginness Gunston Ward Breust (inj)

Amon to the Wing
Weddle on the other wing
Hardwick to the backline
Ramsden forward/relief rucking
Appears I've made the incorrect assumption that Breust is injured so he stays. But I would really like Ramsden to come into the team as we'll be too small in the forward line without Gunston. Plays the forward/ruck relief role. This allows Chol to remain forward. Not sure who goes out though to accommodate him.

Where are you getting 7th in the comp from?

Multiple sites have him bottom 4

At least Geelong likely won’t smash us in the clearances, particularly with danger out. A good chance for our mids to rebound after two poor performances.

But their forward line and backline will cause us issues. Hawkins vs frost doesn’t look great, nor scrim on Cameron. Their backs will likely control Lewis/Chol so will be up to our smalls to kick goals.

Thats just hit outs % across a game, not hit outs to advantage

Hitouts to adv is below via individual rucks, you can clearly see as a main ruck he is one of the worst in the comp so far this reason (albeit small sample size)

This is a hill I'm willing to die on, he simply isn't good enough in the ruck and especially around the ground.

Ins: Ramsden, Hustwaite, Mitchell
Outs: Nash, Maginness, Gunston

B: Sicily Frost Hardwick
HB: Impey Scrimshaw Mitchell
C: Amon Worpel D’Ambrosio
HF: Moore Chol MacDonald
F: Ginnivan Lewis Watson
Fol: Reeves Newcombe Hustwaite
Int: Weddle Ward Mackenzie Ramsden
Sub: Breust
  • Mitchell to the backline for some dare, Amon to the wing for some class.
  • Hustwaite’s strength is winning contested ball and using it well so he should come in for one of the underperforming mids. I’ve chosen Nash.
  • Ramsden as the third tall that can ruck, letting Chol stay forward.
  • Breust sub, where he can come on fresh and impact. Looked very stagnant & fumble yesterday before being subbed off (certainly not alone).

That’s not fair, you’re quoting facts and statistics to back up your argument!

You should just make something up.

Breust was not himself yesterday. Can't remember him being so fumbly. So many poor handballs to players under pressure or at their feet.

Stuffed up a lot of our forward entries. Should have been subbed sooner IMO was one of our worst players on the ground.

He did take time to build into the season last year.

Really need to get Phillips in to free up Sicily

In: Phillips, Huss, Mitchell
Out: Finn, Gunston, Ward

B: Hardwick Phillips Sicily
HB: Scrim Frost Impey
C: Amon Worpel Weddle
HF: Ginni Chol Moore
FF Punky Lewis Watson
Fol: Reeves, Duke, CMac
Int: Huss, Mitchell, Mass, Mackenzie
Sub: Nash

In: Mitchell, Hustwaite
Out: Gunston, Maginness

FB: Mitchell, Frost, Scrimshaw
HB: Weddle, Sicily, Impey
C: Amon, Worpel, Macdonald
HF: Moore, Chol, Ginnivan
FF: Hardwick, Lewis, Watson
Foll: Reeves, Newcombe, Hustwaite
Int: Mackenzie, Ward, D'Ambrosio, Nash
Sub: Breust

Shuffle a few things around,
  • Hardwick more time forward to replace Gunstons rotations.
  • Mitchell into the defensive mix.
  • Hustwaite into the midfield mix replacing Maginness.
  • if Breust is inj, he can be replaced by Butler.
