And also Bruce is tagging Steve Johnson, done a pretty good job, both of them have 2 goals.

Hes freed up Miller which has been a bonus (can't beleive i just said that) and looks as though hes been keeping his man quite.

When we get Bate, Whelan and Moloney back in i reckon we might be alright

Fantastic first half IMO.

Great intensity, the only thing between the teams is the skill level, we have been a bit sloppy (i think the clanger count is something like 35-22, Carroll has had a couple shockers) but we're having a crack and that's all you can ask for.

PJ been brilliant, Brock fantastic (best half i've seen since the StKilda final in 06), Bruce looking close to his best, even Miller's doing some good work. And gee, Cale Morton is impressive.

If we can fight like this for the rest of the game, and still lose I'd be happy (obv would be even happier with a win!)

watched the first half and our endeavor was 100 times better than the first two weeks.
still using the switch like we've been trying for the first two weeks but it was paying off.
Our pressure on the pussies was causing turnovers and goals on the board.

Our skills are terrible. we are the worst skilled team in the AFL by a long way. if we can rectify the skill level we will actually come close to winning games as our poor skill level cost us 5 goals in that half....

Miller was presenting really well up the ground giving the guys coming out of defence a target. Bartram was looking good with tackling a highlight.
Aussie W looks likely, you can see why they put him on the list. JRiv is just a star he gets to contests most blokes wouldn't come close to and spoils. Carroll two terrible mistakes that cost goals but has been doing well none the less.
PJ started the first really well like last week but needs to be able to run a half/full game out. White was also doing well but Blake was able to sneak away for a goal when he was sitting as a loose man in defence.
The fitness still looks lacking for mine, Geelong were able to get away a towards the end of each qtr with harder running.

Overall an improvement but we still have a long way to go. Keep working hard boys and fight it out!

He missed 3 sitters though.. but Riv is playing well, he just adds so much to the defence.

the forwards really need to contest every ball that gets down there. too often were geelong defenders gifted marks because neitz and robbo didn't contest it.

Hold your heads up boys - only went down by 30 compared to Port Adelaide 15 and Essendon 99. Sounds like you have some good young talent coming through - like the sound of Morton. See you in round 15 where I reckon it will be a much closer contest.

We got done twice today like that, not that it would have mattered but that goal umpire is a deadset cheat.
Good game by the boys, once we get a few more good players in we could really get on a roll and win some games if we show the same attack on the footy. The wind stuffed us up a bit, I think we got out positioned a few times. Garland and Chris Johnson were the two main failures today, everyone else played pretty well. I'd be looking for an improved effort from Sylvia soon as well, especially when Bate comes back in, Aussie and Morton deserve their spots ahead of Sylvia if they play like they did today.

I thought I was the only one that thought that "goal" wasn't a goal.

same, went behind the point post no doubt about it. we were also robbed of another goal when a geelong player marked it behind the goal line, i think brad green kicked it? not sure.

I think that a lot of Goalies, in the pressure of the moment, use the goal-pads as their reference which is a difference of 10cm or more compared to the actual white line.

That was the Milburn one, he was 30cm behind the line when he jumped. That said,they did have enough of the ball to win by 5 goals.

No I was talking about another over the line touched called a point that happened in the first quarter (I think), and seeing that Green's was in the last quarter it would have been the same goal umpire (because they change ends at half time do they not). Chapman one was too close to call for mine.
