Sean Darcy - needs to train well to play AFL. Talked about the Melbourne game as well, so they are thinking a bit ahead.
Hayden young - needs to train well to play AFL.

There are some thoughts on how many players you can bring back.

Fyfe - available for Selection (WAFL or AFL). Trained well after the week off. ()
Switta - available for selection. JL rates him as one of the best small forwards in the comp. Will come back in, if fully fit.
-
JL likes what has Dudley has done, would be very unlucky. Match committee has not spoken. I think we can hold our melts.

Cooper Simpson - JL gut feels, probably needs another week. We really like what he brings.

FYI - JL was asked if Dudley would be miss out if Switta came back in. He was very non committal as normal, and said match committee has not spoken yet, but he would be very unlucky if he missed.

Dudley in two games is already a more proven Goalkicker than Switta - sure bring Switta back, but not at the expense of a bloke that genuinely knows where the goals are.

Having listen to the press conference, I expect Dudley to play even if Switta comes back in.

That's what should happen. No harm in picking both of them.

I am now leaning towards:
Jackson - Reidy (I hate it, but Darcy needs another week minimum)
NOD - Young
Banfield - Switta
Wagner - Worner (I'd go Aish, but Longmuir won't)
Banners to sub, or Fyfe if they really wanted to.

This is the exact reason we have Reidy on the list. He will 100% play.

Dudley is just so clean and classy every time he gets the ball. For me Switta is rated much more highly internally than I think most outside the club would rate him. Think Dudley adds an element to our forward line that Switta doesn't really do. Let MC be creative and find a way to squeeze both of them in. All of Switta/Murph/Bolton can rotate through the midfield.
He adds goals and looks more dangerous than Switta.

Geez I hope there's some corporate memory at the club that learnt the lessons of the Lyon fiasco when he dropped Josh Simpson for a half fit Chris Mayne.
I'm not saying it's the wrong move to drop Dudley but when you have an excited young indigenous kid that's done nothing wrong in his debut games getting dropped for a coach favourite role player, you've got to handle these things delicately. We have first hand experience of what happens when you don't.

It would be a joke if it happens, we desperately need dangerous forwards and we would be losing one for one of the least dangerous in the comp. But pressure right…that’s helped over the past few years.

Shit. I melted too early.

If Dudley is dropped there should be outrage. Back in his hometown and after influencing both his games so far, it would be a horrible decision. It wouldn't be horrible for him to be sub and come in late in the third when the game has slowed down and mystify them but let's just hope he is playing a full game!

It’s crazy how overrated Switkowski is internally. Have to weight up what he brings.

Dudley in no way should be dropped neither should Murphy.

Lose a few goals v creativity as well.

I just checked. Dudley's TOG for his two games are 69 and 71. That's not sustainable lets be fair. He can't be a B22 lock until he is capable of 80. I'd prefer he stay in to help build cohesion long term, but if they retain Banfield instead I'll understand why. Dropping both of the first two games has curtailed our luxuries a bit.

Amazing how it’s in form forward may be forced out.

Surely in form means you’re earning the spot and ‘in form’. Any games without kicking goals or not up to scratch, you’re out of form and dropped.
Switta had 7 disposals at 57% (literally 4 efficient touches) and 1 tackle in nearly a half of footy v the cats. Then he had 4 weeks off. Fair to say we are replacing an inform forward with an out of form and underdone forward.

The reason why Murphy Reid got a game was because Shai was missing. Dudley then got a game when Switta went out. With Shai and Switta both back, the choice is between Dudley and Reid to go out. It's a shame for Dudley given he's played so well, but the melts would be off the chain if Reid got dropped
