masten should go through the wafl anyway, it's not like he's at the point where he's auto best 22 selection.

The way I see it is (channelling my inner match committee);

Likely INS - Swift, Smith, Stevenson, McGinnity (I know, I know, but Melb have dangerous smalls)
Less Likely (outside chance) INS - LeCras, Strijk (mainly for the short break, but he could play as the sub)

I think we will make 2 changes, possibly 3, with Swift & Smith the most likely ins.

Can't see how people can suggest that Nicoski stays in for his defensive pressure or that he's better than Hams in that regard

He can't tackle to save his life and shirks the contest just about every time. As such, if he's not kicking goals, he's a liability up forward and doesn't fit our game plan.

I agree somewhat. He's been fairly good in patches this year old Nicoski, but he's got some big faults like his inability to kick straight, and Hams definitely has better defensive pressure.

They are different players, we needed the Hams type more over the past few weeks.

With LeCras in the team, how many of Hams, Strijk and Nicoski can also play? I'd say 2 of them.

I'm still not sold on Ebert as a forward. He hasn't been woeful, but he hasn't been any better than serviceble, and despite playing a different role, I don't think he's in our best 22.

Bring on the teams. No Dalziell or McGinnity please.

Hams is being discriminated against , I dont know what type but he is being disciminated against . Woosha said pre season that Hams showed some good signs last year but as yet hasnt proven himself in a up and winning team - obviously we have won two and seem to have improved and Woosha doesnt see Hams in that winning formula . Which I feel disappointed about and cant see Hams being a permanent fixture in the team in the near future :(

Lecras will definitely play tomorrow.

Pretty amazing he tore his muscle off the bone and then started running a couple days later...is that possible? Did he actually tear it off the bone or was it just a strain? Pretty amazing nonetheless.

We'll be adding dalziell to that list

Without wanting to sound nasty, I hope you are right. He was a poor selection to begin with and produced precisely what most on this board predicted.

I can't see Strijk getting selected given he played on the weekend and I want Swift to keep playing good footy in the WAFL for a few more weeks yet. I wouldn't mind seeing Stevenson come in and Smith as the sub.

Given he played Monday - i can't see dalziell turning it around in 72 hours

I hate to cast aspersions about young Mark, but given the way he went down and the speed of his recovery, is it possible he doesn't like his pain much?

twas thinking about that - if he wasn't an eagle, i'd be starting a thread on the bay about it

Might be a little like that. But to be fair, who would like a tear down there ;)

I noticed the paper said Masten was also a decent chance to play. Makes a bloody change for our players to come back early from an injury for once. FWIW, I think they should probably just put both players to WAFL for the weekend and come back the following week.

He was an unexpected selection in the 22, possibly not a poor one as he'd been in decent WAFL form.

He was a terrible, terrible selection as the sub.

I suppose the other way to look at it may be that his recovery was speedier as he didn't make the injury worse by stumbling his way to the bench immediately after it happened. Perhaps we should get all players who suffer leg injuries to call for the stretcher.

I'm guessing Nico will only be dropped after our next bye putting him on 100 games and qualified for f/s
Dalziell thankfully seems to be out of the side since he played the other day
I hope Swift stays in the wafl his form has been good enough to warrant selection but i think its good for his confidence so I reckon we should keep him there until we play GC
That being said with Brown and Dalziell I'm hoping for maybe Smith or Stevenson in with Lecras as sub

Aren't you already by making that statement? The reality is you can experience a mixture of pain with a lower groin injury with the pain coming from many areas as nerve endings are pretty tender around there.

When he first did it he as holding his genitals directly, which us men all know, is a very sensitive spot.

I have no doubt he initially felt like he had been shot but as he got back to the rooms the pain had subsided somewhat. Far better for the Eagles medical staff to take precaution and cart him off without risking further damage rather than make him walk off.

The way I see it panning out it is only good news. We get our most talented and dangerous player back far sooner than expected.

Agreed. We're doing alright, I'd hate to see them be rushed back in and end up re-aggravating their injuries.

Give Lecca another weeks rest then unleash him for another dozen against the Bombers.:D

Hams/Stryk for Nicoski though they both played on weekend so Nico may live to play another day.

Stevenson for Brown
