costs 40-50K more than we like to pay for a downgrade, and our rooks haven't matured yet to get good cash.
no other reason other than his few crappy games last year.
its a lottery between ross and baker
JS about the same...ask two tiges fans and they'll differ on who is likely to get more games
If you do Moore to baker it makes about 170k and baker is due to go up 70k this week, it’s a risk but could be worth it

Thoughts on Sheppard as an upgrade target?

considering bringing in a D4/5 to move on a rookie. Sheppard averaging 100 and scores are improving. Can he keep the scoring going?

Or Caleb Daniel instead (via Moore)
Plenty better options than Sheppard. He's going alright at the moment but not enuff to believe its anything other than a good patch, and there's always plenty of those happening that draw the eye. Daniel a better bet long term i reckon.

Could last weeks game by Balta, just give him the confidence to score more
Yep! I'm holding the stud for as long as possible. I reckon he stays in the side playing that 2nd ruck role. 58% ToG on the weekend, his highest so far. Playing off a 4 day break so I expect that to drop again, but surely getting fitter. Grigg still out for a long time

I like Lockhart more as a potential future swinging M11/D8 loophole doughnut than as a traditional cash cow. What he scores or even if he plays again doesn't bother me.
Wouldn’t you just get someone later then? Seems like a weird time to do it especially if you get injuries and what not?

Hi guys,

Just looking at possible trade options this week, only have 66K in the bank and considering the following:

Clark > LockHart (nets 137K but scores JS a worry)

Scott > Ross (As bad as scott has been since the first game, still only has a be of like 14, and only nets like 50k)

Parker > Baker (only nets 50k but baker looks the goods, only downside here is I want to get Telly in next week and parker was going to be the sacrifice, willy drew still has plenty of cash to make).

Clark > Lockhart
and
Scrimshaw > Crisp

Team below:

Thanks guys.

Needs to be said over and over coz it gifted the Pies a flag in 2010.
Same gift happening again for the first time since.

Imagine if Sydney finishes top 4 two years running including a flag then gets told they can have their last 7 games at the SCG, when they will be playing finals there AND the GF is played at the SCG.
Imagine if WCE got handed 7 games to finish off the season at Optus this year.
It would be a scandal the Melb press would make sure could never happen again.....but it is.

I think the Tiges play like 5 actual away games this year, and even they are against mobs that finished bottom 6-7 mainly.

Bugger it, i should give Gill a call and blast him about it....just after I ask him "Baker or Ross ? "

Clark -> Lockhart lets me move Moore to Tkelly next week, hopefully with Kelly dropping a bit in price due to Hutchings and Moore pretty much maxing out on the back of a 50+ BE

Twin 80s from Kelly and Moore would be ideal I think

We also have to play a home game at Marvel against clubs that play there more often than we do.
8 of our games at the MCG are against other tennants/half tennants. Home ground advantage for us is basically non existent.

Geeezus I forgot. You might need to take a 5 minute cab ride to one game, to a ground you play on regularly as well.

Point is...once you get to July that's it.

Settle back, enjoy mums home cooking, no need to worry about pesky rubbish like playing on someone else's unfamiliar turf...and just plan how to play your best 22 on the same ground forever more. Your only mates in this will be Pies fans....no prizes for guessing why.

26 trades with $62K in the bank.

Thinking Collins to Lockhart.

AND

Gray to Baker? Am I crazy for thinking this is a good thing to do? Possibly too much of a downgrade?

Can't think of anything else I should be doing, need to start making coin for upgrades! Any other trade ideas are greatly appreciated!!

In two minds on whether to double downgrade this week (Lockhart, Baker or Ross) or to bring in Rocky or Sicily.

Hatley, Hayes and potentially Lewis on the horizon as other options next week.

Lockhart provides a basement rookie with dpp for almost maxed out Clark and Collins.

Cousins pretty much maxed out and a good time to trade him. Ross an option here or Baker with Setterfield into midfield.

Then there is the option of just doing one of those downgrades and upgrade cousins/Clark/Collins into Rocky or Sicily.

Probably leaning towards double downgrade this week to accumulate some $ before upgrades in the next few weeks. Means I’ll miss Rocky’s basement price

Any thoughts? Andrew Birch PoopingHindi go you pups

Well we have to get there first. We have 1 game at the MCG in the first 16 rounds against a non tennant club.

But this isn't the place to discuss the inequities of the fixture.

Avoid Dunkley. Get Walters or Caleb Daniel.

Really hard to give serious advice, without seeing your team .....the advice depends on your team situation, # of trades ...and scoring at present
28 trades left and 13k in the kitty, 2190 last week and in the top 5k overall
Was thinking:
Butters>Ross
Parker>baker
Net 200k and next week Rozee>T.Kelly

Seems a real possibility. Melbourne have lost 2 players from defence, (Jetta and JWagner), and the ins are players who usually play in mid/fwd positions. Garlett will be the small forward, so it seems likely Lockhart will go back.
awesome :thumbsu:

i'll be taking him regardless but that certainly improves his scoring potential

Did some planning this morning, lovely day for it.

This week will just be Clark to Lockhart, leaving me with $142k and this:

a.jpg

Then next week I should be able to afford:

Scrimshaw -> Hurn
Duursma -> Hately

Rough plan for when to trade / potentially trade non-promos.

Before byes or potentially before byes:
  • Duursma soon
  • Scrimshaw soon
  • Drew soon
  • Constable soonish or r12
  • Atkins soonish or r12
  • Setterfield soonish or r13
  • Balta soonish or r13
  • Scott soonish or r13
Not until byes if they keep playing:
  • Moore r12
  • Sheed r12 or keep
  • Walsh r13 or keep
  • Hore r13
  • Brodie Smith r14 or keep
  • O'Brien r14 to Grundy
  • Lockhart keep
