Aren't you talking about bringing him in now? Which would make him a bad pick. If you want to pay a premium for a bloke who will take up a valuable midfield spot and not put up uber premo numbers be my guest.
Also relax a little champo. X

I have him and I'm looking at trading him out, he may not have lost much cash but he's only scored 2 tons in 7 games which isn't premo standard.

Boys this is the situation.

If I take May I miss out on Frederick, but my back 6 is basically complete. But would require me to go early on Dawkins.
If I take Frederick I miss out on May. But I can get Brayshaw/Bolton.

Pls help

I not referring to anything about bringing McGrath in.
I'm responding to your post that he's a bad pick.
Realistically there's 6 "uber" premos this year SO FAR
Gawn
Grundy
Macrae
Then of course the 3 everyone chose and predicted to be uber premos
Ziebell
Walsh
Guthrie

If you could point me to your post declaring those 6 as absolute locks before rd1???

Well there is many reason why you can say Titch is down on form and one aspect is improvement of JoM. I am not saying Titch is going to score badly, all I am saying is that his ceiling might be lowered due to the improvement of JoM. It means more supercoach points going around and Titch isn't always the go to player. 108 average from JoM is pretty big improvement. Clearances and Disposal is going up.

It's JOM and 6 games is a fairly small size sample. He'll end up averaging 90 again by seasons end.

7 game size sample does not maketh an uber premo.

What would you do with this team? Currently $103k in the bank...

Option 1
Chapman -> RCD (and swing Laird back to D4)
Leaves me with about $230k

Option 2
Chapman -> Freddy

Option 3
Chapman -> Freddy
Rowe -> RCD
Leaves me with about $340k for some serious upgrades next week

I'm in the same bind. I'm going Frederick and Brayshaw.

You need to clean out some of those DNPs. Something like McNeil to RCD and Brockman/Rowe to Poulter, although not ideal to go early on rookies.

Yeah I'm banking on brockman being back this week which gives me some flexibility. But the Sunday teams make that impossible.

Joel Western (117k MID) might be your huckleberry.

If he's named that solves a few problems!

It has been a really tough week personally so this is the first time I have opened supercoach since Saturday.

Looks like I had a pretty poor week (1996) partly due to Gawn captain and dropped ~380 spots to 1191.

96k and 21 trades remaining

Chapman, Gulden and Rowe are the 3 that need to go.

Options are:

1) Chapman & Gulden to Fredrick and May (via Laird DPP) leaves 112k

2) Chapman & Gulden to Fredrick and Brayshaw leaves 13k

3) Chapman & Rowe to Fredrick and May (via Laird & Dev Rob DPP) leaves 48k

4) Chapman & Gulden to Fredrick and any other DEF/MID/FWD under $521k - Josh Kelly (12k), Taranto (30k), Shai Bolton (41k), Docherty ($600), Bowes (41k) or Helmet (108k)

Which option is best? If I bring May (or Bowes/Doc/Helmet) in now my defence is complete (with Laird sitting in the mids for the short term till Kosi or Fredrick get culled). Alternatively I bring in Brayshaw or Jelly as a M6-8 for the rest of the year.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd do option 3, Rowe is a spud

Can move Laird back to DEF when Kozi hits his peak price

I trust Gulden to score more on field then some of the other rookies (he'll only lose around $10k with a score of 60)

Next week you can probably turn Kozi and Gulden into RCD and a cheap premo

though you do need another MID premo, so Brayshaw option would also work

Then you can also just trade Kozi to May, who will both rise about the same amount

I'm doing 3 myself this week. Prefer to keep (and field if needed) Gulden over Rowe.

We have similar teams and similar ranks.

You could then look at Gulden/Berry to RCD/mid premo the week after.

Whats everyones thoughts on Brayshaw? Barring the two games he got tagged, seems decent value at 510k?

Some AFL teams have three, four or five SuperCoach primos all scoring enough to be good picks.

Hawks have … Titch currently a sub primo, JOM sub primo … Impey as a forward line primo … Jiath back line primo (?).

Basically the Hawks have zero genuine primos to take point off Titchell. Whatever is going on with him I don’t think it is JOM having a little purple patch.

I genuinely don't get it tbh. As a Hawthorn supporter, I watch the game and check SC scores after. A few times I have thought to myself "Well we lost but at least I can console myself with my supercoach players scoring well, especially Titch" only to see he has scored a 90 or whatever.

Probably the biggest example was against Freo. We were absolutely smashed in the middle in the first quarter and were 6 goals down (could have been more if not for Freo's inaccuracy) with Titch the only winner early. In a single quarter, he completely turned the game on its head, winning so many contests, having 17 touches and kicking a goal with Hawthorn now dominating the middle thanks to him. He turned what looked to be a belting into a 1 goal game that we now looked on track to win. Freo used one of their best mids (Brayshaw) in a tagging job after that to regain some control in the middle, which essentially got them over the line. Titch ended up with 38 disposals, 5 clearances and a goal. He was given 7 coaches votes to be deemed clear 2nd best on ground (behind Mundy who was not tagged and in the winning side). His SC score was only 107 and not in the top 8 on the ground! He was nearly beaten by Michael Hartley (102) who was dropped the following week!

The fact that a long kick in (essentially a 'free' possession that often comes straight back in for a score) seems to score so much higher than an effective contested handball (an earned possession that can turn an opposition attack into a score for your own team) is ridiculous imo. Kicks should not be valued so much higher than hadballs in my view - it is not the 1970's and often handballs can be more likely to lead to possession retention and scores than kicks can.
