What went right
The form of Adam Goodes running off Full Back to kick 3 goals was excellent. Always tried hard, always found the ball, disposal was always good. a shining beacon in a sea of darkness
What went wrong
Its not fair to single out individuals, because the whole team was terrible. Almost everything went wrong yesterday but what was most galring of all was the lack of heart and committment by the players.
Nobody chased, nobody manned-up, nobody tackled. The Doggies wre able to break away and find un-attended teamates loitering about the Centre Square and Centre flanks with ease.
Who was supposed to tagging these loose runners ? - I dunno.
A symption of a club in deep trouble. They didn't have a go - and that is a real bad sign IMHO.
I do believe the coach and players just aren't communicating anymore - and it shows.
Overall
There's been a few bad losses over the years, Last season against Ess and that 98 game against StK spring to mind .... but this one is easily tyhe worst and the most troubling.
We didn't have a go - and that is cause for serious concern.
Even the loser Swans of old could never be accused of not having a red hot go- but these guys just gave up without a whimper yesterday.
I'm now deeply concerned at how we will playout the rest of the season.
THE WAY AHEAD
Every season, its the turn of 2 clubs to 'implode' so to speak. Last season it was Geelong and Freo, this season it look like its Sydney's and Carltons turn to have the season from Hell.
Bring it on - if 'implosion' is what it takes to get the Bloods back into something even resembling form, then so be it.
This season is already a write-off - lets begin the rebuilding NOW.
cheers
